2027 Kogi Guber: Kogi West Should Opt for Dialogue, Not Confrontation – Asiwaju Prince Olatunji
Asiwaju Prince Olatunji Olusoji, founder of the Prince Olatunji Olusoji Foundation and Chairman of Grosvenor Global Services Limited, has urged the people of Kogi West senatorial district to choose dialogue over confrontation in the 2027 governorship election.
He made this call while addressing journalists in Iyara at the sideline of the Ijumu Day cultural Festival held last week Saturday.
Olatunji emphasized that the zone is due to produce the next governor, but stressed the need for unity and productive organization among the people.
“No single senatorial district can produce a governor alone,” he noted, advocating for alliances with other areas.
He recalled the 2023 governorship election, where three prominent sons from Kogi West contested, while other areas had only one candidate each.
He argued that this approach wasn’t beneficial to the area, emphasizing the need for Kogi West to organize and present a united front to claim the governorship slot at the appropriate time.
He commended the current administration led by Governor Ododo, stating that he should be allowed to complete his two-term tenure, which is set to end in 2031.
The call for dialogue comes as Kogi State approaches a critical election, with various stakeholders weighing in on the need for fairness, equity, and stability.
Highlights of the event was his installation as the Agba Akin of Ijumu land by His Royal Majesty, Oba William Ayeni, and his donation of ₦30 million towards community development
