Afizere Nation in Grief as Prof. Izam Laid to Rest

The Elders, Youths, Women, and the entire Afizere Nation mourn their diligent and astute scholar, Late Prof. Yohana D. Izam. His impact and legacies extend beyond Afizere Nation and Plateau State.

Izam was a dedicated Academician, Community leader, and a Politician of high repute; his death has been described by many sympathizers as colossal. His impact on the lives of the younger generation and his mentees will be engraved and remain indelible in their hearts.

As a Teacher, numerous students were tutored by him, and at the Community level, many Youths are today employed and empowered by him. He was a proprietor of two schools, both in Jos North and Jos East Local Government Areas, where students and pupils acquired knowledge and skills.

His remains were interred today in Fursum District of Jos East Local Government Area, after the funeral service at the ECWA Plateau Church. Late Izam has been described by many as a man of peace, humility, and an epitome of unity. The University Community will miss a rare gem and a tutor. His contributions to the Academic Environment are quite enormous.

He was one-time Provost of CARS, Kurgwi, and Vice Chancellor, Plateau State University, Bokkos. Izam was a dedicated member of the ECWA Plateau Church. Thousands of sympathizers have been trooping to his residence to offer condolences from far and near.

His legacies include intellectual excellence, ethical leadership, cultural pride, political fairness, mentorship, the fear of God, and service to humanity, integrity, purpose, and compassion. The Elders and Uncle of the Deceased finally blessed the Children and his wife for God’s protection and guidance.
