“ALAT BY WEMA” PARTNER NYSC TO ENHANCE CORP MEMBERS EMPLOYABILITY CAPACITY.
Towards preparing the Nation’s Graduate in a highly demanding and Competitive labour Markets environment, the Wema Bank in Partnership with the Management of the National Youths Service Corp ( NYSC), has Organized a Capacity building Workshop for Corp Members in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
The event Tagged, ” ALAT BY WEMA”, held at the Cyprian Ekwensi Center for Arts and Culture, Area 10 Garki Abuja, Tuesday March 18th, 2025, Serving Corp Members within the federal Capital Territory participated in the insightful and educative program as resource person from all Fields delivered impactful lectures.
Speaking to the Media on the Significance of the Workshop, the Head of Youths Banking Segment, Wema Bank Plc, Bunmi Ayodele , said the partnership with the National Youths Service Corp NYSC, was aimed at building the Capacity of the Corp Members with innovative ideas , Skills and the required Knowledge that Could make them employable in a highly Demanding and Competitive labour Markets.
She further pointed out that, the ALAT by Wema with track records of impacting innovative ideas and Skills,partners Organizations that focuses on the developments of the Nation’s Youths, and that the Session they were currently holding with the Corp Members was Career Fair, which encompassed Curriculum Vitae (CV),Writing Personal Business branding, Emotional Intelligence and other Skills that could enhance employability.
She said the training they gives was not limited to People that Studied Banking and finance related Courses , that it was a training that was meant for all Corp Members irrespective of your Course of Study.
Also Speaking, Timi Obisesan Head , public Sector Payment and Partnership, said it was instructive for the Corp Members to recognize the fact that, they might end up Working in a field that is different entirely from what they read or Studied in the School, hence, the need for such Program to enable them acquire vast knowledge for a dynamic and Competitive labour Market.
Timi also pointed out that, their partnership was not limited to the National Youths Service Corp NYSC, according to him, they Partner other Organizations including the federal government as well. He said at the moment, they have the mandate to train Three Millions youths across the Country in different areas, including Capacity building, Viability Skills, access to finance and access to market.
The Head of Talent Management, Wema Bank, Olajumoke Olaoke , one of the resource persons at the event emphasized the need for the Corp Members to be acquainted with some Skills and abilities needed to strive in the work environment, saying that her conversation with the Corp Members Centred around , Curriculum Vitae writing, how to appear in an interview, how to build their Personal Business brand and other relevant Skills that could make them employable.
In their separate remarks, Peniel Michael and and Noah Ojima-Ojo Peace, both Corp Member and Participants,expressed delight in what they described as insightful and enriching Program, they further stressed that the program has opened their eyes to many things that would definitely help them as they go into the labour Markets, even as they Commended Wema Bank for the gesture.
