Amb. Coach Gabriel Abinu Empowers Over 120 Women, Youths in Lokoja with Cash, Clothing
In a sustained effort to uplift the lives of grassroots citizens, renowned philanthropist and humanitarian, Ambassador Coach Gabriel Abinu, has empowered over 120 women and youths in Lokoja Local Government Area of Kogi State with financial and material support.
The empowerment event, held at Club Fitness Centre in Lokoja, witnessed a large turnout of community members and dignitaries. Beneficiaries received cash gifts some worth millions of naira as well as clothing and other items aimed at helping them start or grow small businesses.
Speaking during the well-attended ceremony, Amb. Coach Abinu reaffirmed his lifelong commitment to community service.
“What I am doing here today is born out of my passion to help my people,” he said. “It has always been my desire to give back to society, and I will continue to do so until my last breath on earth.”
Also speaking at the event, the Kogi State Commissioner for Water Resources, Hon. Yahaya Farouk, praised Abinu’s consistent humanitarian efforts, describing him as a unifying figure and a rare breed of selfless giver.
“Gabriel Abinu is using his hard-earned money to assist the people of this state,” Farouk stated. “He is not a politician, he does not belong to any political party, and he has not benefitted from government contracts. Yet, he continues to touch lives and unite our communities through his good works.”
Farouk urged the beneficiaries to use the support wisely and work towards financial independence, saying:
“Make judicious use of the items you have received today. They are seeds that can grow into something meaningful.”
Amb. Coach Abinu’s philanthropic footprint in Lokoja and beyond is well documented. In recent years, he has constructed boreholes in several communities within Lokoja metropolis, easing the burden of water scarcity for thousands of residents.
In the education sector, he has also made a significant impact by sponsoring over 1,000 students through the payment of WAEC and JAMB registration fees.
Several beneficiaries expressed gratitude, describing Abinu as a “beacon of hope” in challenging times. One of the recipients, Hauwa Sulaiman, said:
“This support means the world to me. I can now expand my tailoring business. May God continue to bless Coach Abinu.”
Another beneficiary, Mrs Feyisike Ayodele added “It’s rare to see someone who gives so much without expecting anything in return. He has shown us that true leaders serve with humility.”
The event closed with prayers for the philanthropist and renewed calls for other well-meaning individuals to emulate his example in giving back to society.
