ASIWAJU OLATUNJI OLUSOJI INSTALLED AS AREE MAIYEDUN OF EKINRIN-ADDE, DONATES ₦10M FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
— The newly coronated Ene-Umola Atta-Igala and Asiwaju of Ayere Kingdom, Asiwaju Prince Olatunji Olusoji, was on Saturday installed as the Aree Maiyedun of Ekinrin-Adde by His Royal Majesty, Oba Anthony Bamigbaiye CON, the Olu Adde of Ekinrin-Adde.
The installation took place during the 2026 Ekinrin-Adde Day Cultural Festival and was witnessed by traditional rulers, community leaders, sons and daughters of the town, and dignitaries from across Kogi State and beyond.
The renowned philanthropist, who was chairman of the occasion, was represented by the Executive Chairman of Ijumu Local Government Area, Hon. Haruna Ibrahim, who delivered his goodwill message. Oba Bamigbaiye said the chieftaincy title was conferred on Asiwaju Olusoji in recognition of his commitment to community development, philanthropy, and contributions to the unity and progress of Ekinrin-Adde and its environs.
In his acceptance speech, the new Aree Maiyedun pledged to use his position to support initiatives that will uplift the people of Ekinrin-Adde, especially in education, health, and youth empowerment.
To demonstrate his commitment, Asiwaju Olusoji announced a donation of ₦10 million for community development projects in Ekinrin-Adde. He said the fund would be directed at projects that will have direct impact on the lives of residents.
“I am humbled by this honour bestowed on me by my father, Oba Anthony Bamigbaiye, and the entire Ekinrin-Adde community. This title is not just a crown, but a call to service. I will do everything within my power to complement the efforts of our royal father and community leaders in moving Ekinrin-Adde forward,” he stated.
The 2026 Ekinrin-Adde Day Festival also featured cultural displays, conferment of awards on distinguished sons and daughters, and a call for indigenes at home and abroad to invest in the development of the community.
