Austin Okai: PDP Does Not Support Criminality – KABBA-BUNU PDP YOUTH LEADER, OLUWAKAYODE ESEYIN

The attention of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Youth Leader, Hon.Oluwakayode Emmanuel Eseyin, has been drawn to the press release issued by the State Publicity Secretary of our great party, Alhaji Tijani Aruwa, in support of Austin Okai. While it is the right of every Nigerian to express their opinions on matters of public concern, we will not allow our party to be dragged into endorsing criminality or promoting an ethnic agenda laced with innuendos capable of inciting crisis in our dear state.

The details surrounding the arrest of Austin Okai remain unclear, as the law enforcement agency responsible for his detention has yet to charge him to court or establish a prima facie case against him due to their ongoing investigation. However, various media reports suggest that his arrest may be linked to unverified, unsubstantiated, and defamatory statements allegedly made against the hardworking Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Usman Ododo.

Given this, the press release by our party’s State Publicity Secretary is unnecessary, hasty, and unwarranted. Austin Okai did not commit any offence under the banner of the PDP, nor was he acting on behalf of the party when making his alleged defamatory statements. Therefore, I, alongside the entire PDP Youth leadership in Kabba/Bunu Local Government, categorically dissociate ourselves from the said press release. We want to make it unequivocally clear to the general public that the statement does not reflect the position of our party members, both at home and in the diaspora. The PDP does not, and will never, support criminality in any form.

While we wish Austin Okai well, we recognize the authority of security agencies to carry out their lawful and legitimate duties. Justice demands accountability—let Austin Okai provide concrete evidence to substantiate his allegations.

May God bless the People’s Democratic Party!
May God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria!
