Best Governor Award for Governor Sheriff Oborevwori: An Endorsement for 2027, Says Dr Ebenezer Okorodudu, Executive Director Projects, DESOPADEC

As His Excellency RT Hon Sheriff OBOREVWORI the Governor of Delta State receives the prestigious This Day Newspaper / Arise TV Network Governor of the Year Award on Monday 27th January 2025 Chief Dr Ebenezer Okorodudu ,Executive Director Project DESOPADEC has described the national event as an endorsement for 2027.

In a momentous recognition of excellence in governance and leadership, Delta State Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori was honored with the prestigious This Day Newspaper ,/Arise TV Network Best Governor Award. This accolade, bestowed by a reputable body in recognition of his transformative strides across various sectors, has generated widespread acclaim, with many calling it a fitting endorsement for his potential reelection come 2027.

Among those applauding this remarkable feat is Dr Ebenezer Okorodudu, the Executive Director of Projects, Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC). Speaking on the governor’s achievement, Dr Okorodudu described the award as “a well-deserved acknowledgment of Governor Oborevwori’s unparalleled dedication to the upliftment of Delta State.”

Dr Okorodudu who spoke in Warri highlighted the governor’s outstanding performance, particularly in areas of infrastructure development, youth empowerment, health, and education. “Governor Oborevwori’s M.O.R.E. Agenda has been a beacon of hope for the people of Delta State. His commitment to making life better for all Deltans has not only earned him the admiration of his people but also national recognition,” he stated.

The Best Governor Award is seen as a testament to Oborevwori’s visionary leadership, which has set Delta State on a path of unprecedented progress. From the massive rehabilitation of urban and rural roads to the revitalization of healthcare facilities, the governor has demonstrated a deep understanding of governance as a tool for societal transformation.As it stands today, the Twenty months of Oborevwori in office as governor of Delta State has turned the entire State into a massive construction site. The Warri/Effurun flyover projects remain loud legacy statements especially with the engagement of Julius Berger, a globally tested and proven construction firm, to ensure competence and timely delivery. Projects like the Beneku Bridge, the Ughelli-Asaba Expressway, the Orere Bridge, the Isheagu-Ewulu Road, the Okpanam-Ibusa Bypass, the Trans Warri Ode-Itsekiri Road, storm water drainage projects in various urban and sub-urban centres, a multiplicity of internal roads in various towns and cities and link roads in various rural and riverine communities also validate the conferment of Governor of the Year Award on Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.

the Delta State Health Contributory Insurance Scheme, which has provided affordable healthcare coverage to thousands of residents, including the vulnerable. His administration has also significantly invested in agriculture, education, and job creation, further cementing his legacy as a people-focused leader.

Dr Okorodudu further emphasized that the award underscores the governor’s readiness to continue serving beyond his current tenure. “This recognition is not just a celebration of his accomplishments; it is a clarion call for continuity. The people of Delta State are confident that with Governor Oborevwori at the helm, the state’s developmental trajectory will remain on an upward spiral,” he remarked.
