CHIEF MRS. TOYIN OMOLE CONFERRED WITH CHIEFTAINCY TITLE AS IYALAJE OF IGBARUKU-OKE-ERI
It was a day of honour, culture, and celebration at the palace of His Royal Majesty, Oba J.O. Babalola, the Onigbaruku of Igbaruku-Oke-Eri, as renowned philanthropist and community leader, Chief Mrs. Toyin Omole, was conferred with the prestigious chieftaincy title of Iyalaje of Igbaruku-Oke-Eri.
The conferment ceremony, held at the palace in Igbaruku-Oke-Eri, drew traditional rulers, chiefs, political leaders, women’s groups, family members, and well-wishers who came to witness the historic recognition.
The title Iyalaje, which translates to “Mother of Commerce and Development”, was bestowed on Chief Mrs. Omole in recognition of her commitment, selfless service, and the positive impact she has made in Igbaruku-Oke-Eri and its environs.

Over the years, Chief Mrs. Omole has been known for her humanitarian interventions — supporting widows, empowering women and youths, providing educational and medical assistance, and contributing to community development projects. Her consistent efforts to uplift the less privileged and promote unity have earned her the admiration of the Igbaruku-Oke-Eri community and the Kabiyesi.
Speaking during the ceremony, HRM Oba J.O. Babalola described Chief Mrs. Omole as a woman of virtue, generosity, and vision whose works have touched many lives. He noted that the chieftaincy title was a way of acknowledging her contributions and encouraging her to do more for humanity.
In her acceptance speech, an elated Chief Mrs. Toyin Omole expressed deep appreciation to the Onigbaruku of Igbaruku-Oke-Eri and the entire community for finding her worthy of the revered title.
She described the honour as humbling and a call to greater service.
“I am sincerely grateful to His Royal Majesty, Oba J.O. Babalola, the Onigbaruku of Igbaruku-Oke-Eri, and to the good people of this great community for this recognition. This chieftaincy title is not just for me, but for all the women and youths I represent. I pledge to continue to support humanitarian causes and contribute my quota to the growth and development of Igbaruku-Oke-Eri,” she said.
With her installation as Iyalaje of Igbaruku-Oke-Eri, Chief Mrs. Toyin Omole adds another feather to her cap of leadership and service.
The conferment marks a new chapter — one that positions her to further champion commerce, women’s empowerment, and social welfare in Igbaruku-Oke-Eri.
Community members who spoke at the event described the title as _“well deserved,”_ noting that Chief Mrs. Omole has always led with compassion and action.
The installation as Iyalaje of Igbaruku-Oke-Eri is an affirmation of the fact that service does not go unnoticed. As she takes on this new traditional responsibility, the people of Igbaruku-Oke-Eri look forward to greater partnerships in development, unity, and prosperity.
