Christmas: Hon. Leke Abejide flags off the distribution of food items to widows and constituents.

The member representing Yagba East, Yagba West, and Mopamuro Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Leke Abejide has flagged off the distribution of food items and other materials worth one billion naira for distribution to constituents and widows.

In his address during the flag-off, Hon. Abejide stated that the distribution of food items and other materials is not new as it is a yearly routine to give food items to widows and constituents across all the polling units and wards in Yagba.

“The distribution of food items is my usual gesture, the food items will go to the 34 wards across Yagba Federal Constituency and all the polling units for our people to have food to celebrate with in the season of Christmas and New year as the gesture didn’t start today but has been in existence for about 9 years.

For this year’s distribution we have 24, ooo bags of rice 5kg each, 10, 000 of 2kg per pack of Gari, 10,000 wrappers of six yards for widows, salt, sugar, and noodles.

Rt.Hon. Leke is passionate about philanthropy and committed to ensuring that the widows are shown genuine love during this festive period as commanded in the Holy Book, the purpose of the initiative is to help widows, show them love with other constituents who will benefit from the food item distribution.

He also reconsidered his promise of 5m to 71 autonomous communities across Yagba Federal Constituency to support all the communities with a distinct project that will serve the interests of the people.

According to him, some years ago I promised to support all our communities with 5M Naira each but my Governorship contest took a lot of resources and time, which made it impossible.

Many communities have invited me to launchings at their yearly community day celebrations, we will flag off officially by next year as I have decided to give each community 10M each to support their community projects and all the autonomous communities in Yagba will benefit from this by 2026, we will give a total sum of 710M Naira to 71 communities.

Hon. Leke Abejide officially flagged off the food distribution and enjoined that it gets to all the wards and polling units across Yagba Federal Constituency, the widows and constituents deserving.
