The Muhammadu Buhari Library of Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, has received a five-volume set of Electrical and Electronics Engineering Practical Manuals donated by the Dan Masani of Ilorin Emirate, Engr. Alapasanpa.

The donation is aimed at strengthening practical learning, technical competence and hands-on training among students of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the university.

“The Dan Masani of Ilorin,Engr. Suleiman Yahaya Alapansanpa(right) presenting the Engineering collection manuals to the University Librarian of the Kwara State University (KWASU),Malete, Prof. Abdul Salam Abiodun Salman, in Malete.”

Presenting the materials, Engr. Alapasanpa said the gesture was inspired by his commitment to supporting quality technical education and equipping students with relevant learning resources capable of bridging the gap between theory and practical application.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, the University Librarian, Professor AbdulSalam Abiodun Salman, described the gesture as “a welcome development and the right step in the right direction.”

Prof. Salman commended the Dan Masani for his generosity and vision, stressing that contributions of this nature have a direct impact on the quality of training and professional development of engineering students.

«“This is an exemplary act of giving back to society. I use this opportunity to call on other knowledge- and information-spirited individuals, alumni and friends of the university and the library to emulate Engr. Alapasanpa by donating their personal collections to the library. This is the best way to entrench everlasting legacies that will continue to impact on the training of our students,” he said.

The University Librarian assured that the donated manuals would be made readily accessible to students and that they would be encouraged to make judicious use of the valuable resources, in addressing societal challenges.

The Muhammadu Buhari Library, KWASU, which is the second-largest library in West Africa, serves as a major centre for research, teaching and learning across disciplines in the university.

The latest donation is expected to enhance practical instruction in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and further support KWASU’s drive to produce technically competent and industry-ready graduates.
