Don’t Politicize Insecurity in Okunland, Support Governor Ododo’s Initiative – Hon. Durosinmi Meseko

By Samuel Temiloluwa – Abuja

The Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Chairman of the Nigerian Building and Road Research Institute (NBRRI), Hon. Durosinmi Meseko, has urged politicians not to politicize the ongoing insecurity in Kogi State. Instead, he declared his support for any initiative aimed at curbing the situation.

Speaking at a civic reception organized by the Legend Club of Okunland in Abuja to honor federal appointees from Okun extraction, Meseko described the security situation in Kogi State, particularly in Okunland, where a retired army major was killed by kidnappers as unfortunate.

” Let us all appreciate what this amiable young man, our Governor, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo is doing for us especially in the area of insecurity. All we need is to support him to succeed. I, as a person will continue to support his efforts. And I want to warn those of us that are politicians not to politicise insecurity. It won’t help. And those of us close to the Governor must also give the right information to him at all times devoid of character assassination. By God’s grace, the Governor shall succeed in this battle”.

He emphasized that no one would wish for their loved ones to be kidnapped or killed and pledged to support Governor Usman Ododo’s efforts to eradicate bandits in the state.

Meseko expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu and Hon. James Faleke for the opportunity to serve the party at the national level and promised to contribute to the nation’s development.

He commended the Legend Club of Okunland for organizing the event, which brought appointees together to remind them of their roots and their responsibility to achieve the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu.

Meseko called on all Okun sons and daughters to support and cooperate with the current administration at both state and federal levels to ensure progress in the community.

He pledged to utilize his position for the betterment of the nation and Okunland in particular.

Highlight of the event was the presentation of award of honors by the Legend Club of Okunland to the appointees
