The Emodu Community Secondary School Old Ofabo Old Students Association (ECSSOOSA) will on Saturday commence its much-anticipated Valentine Week Fund-Raising Programme, a drive aimed at deepening alumni support for infrastructure development at Emodu Community Secondary School, Ofabo.

In a press release issued in Lagos on Friday, the Chairman, Board of Trustees, Mr Abel Anyebe, called on members to demonstrate renewed commitment to the initiative, noting that similar interventions in the past had yielded tangible results.

According to him, proceeds from previous fund-raising efforts enabled the association to construct an entire block of classrooms for the school, revealing the impact of collective responsibility and sustained giving.

Mr Anyebe disclosed that ECSSOOSA has also commenced the renovation of a block of three classrooms, with roofing already completed and plastering as well as internal works underway. He added that the alumni body has remained proactive in championing the extension of the school’s land and supporting other critical projects within the institution.

Emphasizing the association’s central role, the BOT Chairman described ECSSOOSA as the singular body consistently alleviating infrastructural challenges at the school, urging members not to allow the association to falter.

He thanked stakeholders and alumni for their unwavering contributions so far, stressing that “no amount is too small” for the Valentine Week theme, “Show Love to Your Alma-Mater.” He assured members that all proceeds from the programme would be transparently channeled into ongoing ECSSOOSA projects, particularly the classroom block currently undergoing renovation.

Meanwhile, the President of the Association, Chief Dr Alfa Friday, has also appealed passionately to members across chapters to actively participate in the Valentine Week activities. He described the programme as more than a fund-raiser, but a unifying platform that reinforces shared identity, collective memory, and responsibility to the next generation of students.

Dr Friday noted that alumni engagement remains the backbone of ECSSOOSA’s successes, adding that unity of purpose has continued to translate into visible progress at the school. He encouraged members to seize the Valentine Week as an opportunity to recommit themselves to service, solidarity, and legacy-building for their alma mater.

The ECSSOOSA President further assured members that the leadership remains accountable and focused on delivering projects that directly impact teaching and learning conditions at Emodu Community Secondary School, Ofabo. He expressed confidence that with sustained support, the association would achieve even greater milestones in the coming years.
