Ekinrin-Adde Day 2026: Hon. Kolade Fegbemi Enters Omo-Atata Award Hall of Fame
The Ekinrin-Adde Community Development Association (EACDA), has announced the nomination of Hon. Kolade Alaba Fagbemi into the prestigious Omo-Atata Hall of Fame.
In a statement obtained by News Hub Magazine through Pastor Emmanuel Ajibola Ogungbuyi, the Spokesperson of EACDA, this category of Award Honours indigenes who have excelled in their careers and also impacted the community.
Speaking further, the EACDA Spokesperson said the induction will take place at the Ekinrin-Adde Multipurpose town hall opposite the Ekinrin-Adde Community Radio, Akogba 88.3 fm on the 26th of June this year.
Hon. Kolade Fagbemi was born on 10th October 1966 into the family of the late High Chief and Mrs Olorungun Adeleye Fagbemi in Alede Gbara, Ekinrin-Adde. He began his education at Baptist Primary School, Ekinrin-Adde, where he studied from 1973 to 1979, before proceeding to Baptist High School, Ekinrin-Adde and graduated in 1984.
He later gained admission into the then Kwara State College of Technology, where he obtained both his Ordinary National Diploma (OND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) in Banking and Finance in 1991. He thereafter, proceeded for his National Youth Service Corps in Lagos State, where he served with F.D. Export Ltd between 1991 and 1992.
After his service year, he relocated to Abuja, where he was employed by an investment company at Sheraton Hotel and Towers as an Investment Officer. Through dedication and professional growth, he rose to the position of Manager in 1997. He later joined Bentrade Nigeria Limited as General Manager, a position he held until 2000, when he resigned to venture into active politics and private business, which he had established in 1999.
In pursuit of further academic development, Hon. Kolade Fagbemi obtained a postgraduate degree in Management from Imo State University and is a fellow of the Institute of Professional Managers and Administrators of Nigeria.
Beyond his professional career, he has been actively involved in community service. He previously served as an executive member of Ekinrin-Adde Students’ Union and later as an executive member of Abuja Branch of the Ekinrin-Adde Community Development Association. In 2000, he was nominated by the Abuja Branch to contest for the position of National President of EACDA, an election he won and served from 2000 to 2002.
He is noted as the youngest and the only person whose father also served as President of the Association. He currently serves as Patron of the Abuja Branch of the EACDA.
Hon. Fagbemi is also an active politician and is married to Mrs Omowumi Julie (née Damolekun), and they are blessed with children.
The EACDA described his nomination as a recognition of his legacy of leadership and commitment to the development of Ekinrin-Adde community.
