Also on the tour were serving members of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Commissioners, Local Government Chairmen, government appointees, APC stakeholders, party leaders, and hundreds of party members and supporters.

At Idah, the team paid homage to the Attah Igala, His Royal Majesty Dr. Alaji Mathew Opaluwa OgwucheAkpa, CFR, before proceeding to other key locations across the Senatorial District.

The delegation also stopped in Ejule, where Erico paid a courtesy visit to the hometown of the Deputy Governor, before proceeding to Anyigba, the headquarters of the APC Zonal Secretariat, and thereafter to Ankpa, covering key areas across the three Federal Constituencies.

The tour provided Erico with an opportunity to personally appreciate APC leaders, stakeholders, party members and supporters for their support during the senatorial primary, while also strengthening the party’s mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections.

The final stop at Etutekpe, Okpo, Erico’s hometown, witnessed a colourful homecoming reception attended by a large crowd of party supporters and political stakeholders.

Speaking at the reception, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, who was represented by his Deputy, Comrade Joel Salifu Oyibo, congratulated Erico on his emergence and reaffirmed the APC’s determination to secure victory across Kogi East.

According to him, the upload of names done by INEC has put to rest the question of who is the senatorial candidate of the party in Kogi East, while adding that it is a win-win for the party, as there’s no victor no vanquished.

The Governor also formally presented President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, Erico and the three House of Representatives candidates to the people, urging party members and supporters to remain united and work collectively for victory in the 2027 general elections.

Speaking at his homecoming reception in Etutekpe Okpo, the APC Kogi East Senatorial Candidate, Chief Dr. Joseph Ameh Erico, expressed appreciation to the people of Kogi East for the confidence reposed in him during the senatorial primary.

Erico described his emergence as a victory for the people and promised to justify the confidence placed in him by the party and the electorate.

He thanked APC leaders, stakeholders, delegates and supporters across the Senatorial District for their support, stressing that the journey to the Senate was not about him alone but about providing effective representation and advancing the interests of the people.

The APC candidate pledged to remain accessible, responsive and committed to the development and wellbeing of the people of Kogi East.

“I want to sincerely thank all of you for the confidence you have reposed in me. I will not betray this trust. I will remain accessible to you and will work tirelessly to ensure that the voice and interests of Kogi East are properly represented at the National Assembly.”

Erico also called on APC members across the three Federal Constituencies to remain united and focused as the party prepares for the 2027 general elections.

He urged party supporters to take the message of the APC to every ward and polling unit, assuring them that victory would be achieved through unity, hard work and collective mobilisation.

He further appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and Deputy Governor Joel Salifu, for their leadership and support, while calling on all APC stakeholders to work together to deliver victory for the party in 2027.

Also speaking, the APC candidate for Ankpa-Omala-Olamaboro Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Abdullahi Halims, described the gathering as a collective investment in the political future of the people, urging supporters to see the election as an opportunity to secure a better tomorrow.

He expressed optimism that with unity, determination and Godswill, the APC would record victory across Kogi East and the state, while urging party supporters to closeranks and mobilise accross board for the candidates of the party.

The tour ended on a high note in Etutekpe, with party leaders and supporters expressing renewed commitment to the APC and readiness to mobilise for victory across the three Federal Constituencies and nine local government in Kogi East for the 2027 polls.
