2027: ADC Gains Momentum in Kebbi as Tadurga’s Appointment Energises Malami’s Campaign.

By Bala Salihu Dawakin Kudu
Northern Bureau Chief
September 13, 2026.

ABUJA — The appointment of Rt. Hon. Sani Dauda Tadurga as Director-General of the 2027 governorship campaign of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate in Kebbi State, His Excellency Dr. Abubakar Chika Malami, SAN, has continued to attract commendation from political stakeholders and supporters of the party across the state.

Speaking with journalists in Abuja, including Democracy Newsline Newspaper, Hon. Dantani Ango Yalo, Political Adviser to Senator Garba Musa Maidoki, who represents Kebbi South Senatorial District in the National Assembly, said the choice of Tadurga had been widely welcomed by people across Kebbi State.

Yalo described the appointment as a strategic political decision capable of strengthening the ADC’s grassroots mobilisation and improving the party’s prospects in the 2027 governorship election.

According to him, Tadurga is a grassroots politician with considerable experience in political organisation, public engagement and electioneering, adding that his ability to relate with people across different political constituencies made him suitable for the responsibility.
He said, “The people of Kebbi State have welcomed the appointment of Rt. Hon. Sani Dauda Tadurga. His appointment has demonstrated that Dr. Abubakar Chika Malami understands the importance of putting the right people in the right positions.”

Yalo further argued that Tadurga’s previous political experience and electoral participation had given him an understanding of the dynamics of the state’s political environment.

He said the appointment had created renewed optimism among ADC supporters, claiming that some people who had previously remained outside active partisan politics were now expressing interest in supporting the party ahead of the 2027 elections.

The political adviser described the appointment as “laying the foundation of a building in the hands of an experienced builder,” expressing confidence that the ADC could emerge victorious if the party remained united and focused.

Yalo also commended Tadurga for his commitment to the ADC and quoted him as assuring party supporters, leaders and members of the campaign council at national, state, local government and ward levels that he would work tirelessly towards victory for the party.

He urged the newly appointed Director-General to develop an effective grassroots strategy capable of bringing together the party’s supporters and expanding its reach across the 21 local government areas of Kebbi State.

Yalo also called on members of the campaign council and other party stakeholders to intensify their mobilisation efforts, stressing that electoral victory would require unity, discipline, effective communication and sustained engagement with voters.

He expressed confidence that Tadurga’s involvement could help consolidate the ADC’s political structure and improve coordination between the party leadership, campaign organisation and grassroots supporters.

According to him, the ADC’s objective should not be limited to the governorship election, but should extend to building a strong electoral structure capable of supporting candidates across the various levels of government in the 2027 elections.

Yalo further alleged that the APC-led administration in Kebbi State had failed to adequately address challenges confronting the state, particularly in the areas of education, healthcare, employment and security.
He urged the people of Kebbi State to carefully assess the performance of the incumbent administration before deciding how to vote in the forthcoming elections.

The political adviser maintained that voters should place the development of the state, security, education, healthcare, employment opportunities and economic wellbeing at the centre of their electoral decisions.
However, the claims against the APC administration represent the position of Yalo and the ADC, and would likely be contested by supporters of the ruling party.

As the 2027 elections draw closer, the political landscape in Kebbi is expected to become increasingly competitive, with political parties seeking to strengthen their structures, win over influential stakeholders and expand their grassroots support.

For the ADC, the emergence of Tadurga as campaign Director-General is being presented by its supporters as a major step towards building a coordinated campaign around the governorship ambition of Dr. Abubakar Chika Malami, SAN.

Yalo concluded by urging ADC members to remain united and committed to the party’s objectives, saying that a disciplined and well-coordinated campaign would be crucial to translating the growing enthusiasm into electoral success in 2027.
