FARMER GOVERNOR UMARU BAGO PRESENTS CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY TO DG NITDA FOR ESTABLISHMENT OF ITS REGIONAL OFFICE IN MINNA.

Niger State Governor Farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago has allocated a piece of land to the National Information Technology Development Agency NITDA for the establishment of its Regional Agency in Minna.

The Farmer Governor presented the Certificate of Occupancy to the Director General of NITDA Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi in Abuja.

Farmer Umaru Bago who re-echoed the significance of Information Technology to the overall growth and development of any Society said his administration is keen on keeping pace with technological advancement in line with global best practices.

He said, the creation of the State’s Ministry of Communication Technology and Digital economy is in tandem with his desire in advancing the technological landscape of the State.

The Director General National Information Technology Development Agency, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi appreciated the Farmer Governor’s efforts aimed at promoting the growth and development of the Agency in the Country.

He further explained that the National Information Technology Development Agency will also build a Center of Excellence for Agric Technology in the State.

The National Information Technology Development Agency NITDA is a public service Institution established by the NITDA Act 2007 as the ICT policy implementing arm of the Federal Ministry of Communication, Innovation and Digital economy.

Part of the Agency’s mandates is to create a framework for the planning, research, development, application, coordination, monitoring, evaluation, and regulation of Information Technology practices and systems in Nigeria.
