The Federal Ministry of Works has successfully repaired the portion of the Kano-Maiduguri Road in Bauchi State that was recently affected by severe flooding. This was revealed in a statement released on Thursday by Uchenna Orji, the Special Adviser on Media to the Minister of Works. He said, “This flood disaster occasioned by climate change was going to cause monumental hardship to the people of the affected area and indeed all the users of the road,” “The President of Nigeria, President Bola Tinubu, in his usual generous greatness of spirit brought immediate and prompt intervention that renewed the hope of the people of the area.”

In furtherance of the President’s mandate, the Minister of Works,, Sen. Engr. Nweze David Umahi, visited the area on 15th August 2024 and initiated emergency response processes and permanent solution measures towards sorting out the critical situation of the road,” “Today, the life-threatening problems faced by the people on account of the destroyed road have been solved as the Federal Ministry of Works has fixed the road and opened it for use on an emergency basis pending when final and permanent construction work is completely executed”
