The Kano State House of Assembly has expressed displeasure with the state waste management agency, REMASAB, over its below-average operations, citing the alarming accumulation of waste in the metropolitan, which poses a significant threat to public health and safety.
SolaceBase reports that the Chairman of the Assembly’s Environmental Committee, Ali Musa Kachako, representing the Takai constituency, conveyed the Assembly’s concerns during a visit to assess REMASAB’s activities.
‘’Despite receiving adequate funding and equipment from the government, REMASAB has failed to utilize its resources effectively, leaving equipment such as trucks and garbage collection vehicles idle, ‘’Kachako lamented.
While commending their efforts, the committee urged them to intensify their work.
All agencies visited by the committee have pledged to enhance their performance to drive progress in Kano State.
