As He Comissioned 2.6 Km Okpolo/Enhwe/Uwheru Road (Phase 2)

His Excellency, RT Hon (Elder) Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, the Executive Governor of
Delta State, in continuation of the celebration of his “FIRST 100 DAYS IN OFFICE” on Thursday 14th , September 2023 Commissioned the 2.6 km Okpolo/Enhwe/Uwheru Road (Phase 2) amidst pomp and peagantry to the glory of God.
Governor Sheriff Oborevwori the Delta Chief Executive in the course of Commissioning remarks stated
that
irrespective of the paucity of funds,
the State decided to embark
on this Road Project due to the fundamental need to mitigate the chalenges of perennial flooding in the Area.
The Governor clarified and reaffirmed that his administration is
committed to giving equal attention to both Rural and Urban Roads in the State, hence the recent Exco approval of three flyovers to
be constructed in Warri and Uvwie
to Check the problem of persistent traffic gridlock in Warri and Effurun Metropolis and also to ensure that the State is in the touchline of needed Road infrastructures in tune
with contemporary reality.
Governor Oborevwori who was flanked on his entourage by top most members of the State Executive Council (SEC) during his speech, reiterated his commitment to the MORE Agenda template of developing the State, which is already yielding expected dividends
of democracy to the constellation of all Deltans across the three Senatorial Districts.
He added: ” Delta State under my watch Will continue to remain stedfast on the Path of irreversible growth ,accelerated development and unassaillable progress using the instrumentality of tested and trusted performance indicators as encapsulated in the MORE Agenda.
Continuing further, Governor Oborevwori said : ” Today, l am particularly happy for the successful completion and Commissioning of the Okpolo/Enhwe/Uwheru Road (Phase 2) which is very dear to the Delta State Government, my People of Isoko South LGA
and their neirbours of Uwheru in Ughelli North LGA as it will improve
on the economic life of the People both in commerce and industry.
While emphasizing the need for quality service delivery by Contractors, Governor Oborevwori
asserted : ” It is pertinent and necessary to state that henceforth the Works Ministry should ensure that only jobs executed, to the standard and quality of the Okpolo/Enhwe/Uwheru Road (Phase 2) Project should be issued Certificates, as there is no compromise to quality service delivery.”

during his Commissioning speech said:” Once again, l wish to call on Deltans across board to support the MORE Agenda which is robust enough to give birth to the Delta of
our dream, promising that he will look into the request of Okpolo-Enhwe Community.
In his welcome address, Comrade Chief Kennedy Idolor
the President General, Okpolo – Enhwe Progressive Union stated that
the visit of the Governor to Okpolo – Enhwe to Commission the 2.6km Road is an eloquent testament of the MORE Agenda
at Work by our indifatigable Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
Chief Kennedy Idolor, noted that the benevolent gesture of the Governor towards Okpolo – Enhwe People in particular and the
lsoko Nation in general speaks volume about the listening disposition of His Excellency, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, as a man with a good dose of empathy .
He went further to mention and commend the commitment and doggedness of the Delta State Government with a major plank of massive Infrastructural Development, anchored by our amiable former Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa whose brain child it was, to systematically correct all wrongs of deprivation and marginalization meted to the Isoko Nation and other parts of the State by revisiting this project, which was originally conceptualized in 1975 by the then Military Governor of Old Bendel State, Brig. Gen Samuel Osaigbovo Ogbemudia, of blessed memory,
it was commenced but abandoned shortly afterwards. Since then, no subsequent Government has contemplated considering bringing it back to light,.
While appreciating our current indefatigable Governor for ensuring continuity of this project to completion, Idolor said: ” What Góvernór Oborevwori has done for Okpolo Enwhe exemplifies the beauty of governance and continuity. ”
The Community President General remarked that
it is also worthy of note, to put on record the invaluable role exhibited by the architect and think – tank who speedily pushed this project forward from inception to completion by readily making resources available and personally visited the site at intervals in the course of execution, a man with an uncommon personality, in person of the Chairman, De Wayles Group of Companies, whom he described as the “Supreme High Chief, in person of High Chief Emonena Victor Wayles Egukawhore (JP). He has been very instrumental, as the major personality who influenced this project to the community.
This is also partly attributed to the selfless service and benevolence of the Chairman, High Chief Emonena Victor Wayles Egukawhore (JP) who is consistent in rendering his best to the Isoko Nation and ensuring that Isoko is not relegated to the background in the scheme of events and to key into the vision of good governance of Delta state in this direction. On behalf of the Community, Chief Idolor thanked Governor Oborevwori for his magnanimous disposition towards
the Okpolo – Enwhe People.
Hon Charles Aniagwu, the Delta State Hon Commissioner for Works
( Rural And Riverine Areas) while giving a brief introduction of the Project, affirmed that Emorock Concepts Limited (A subsidiary of Dewayle’s Group of Companies) , the Contractors that executed the Okpolo – Enhwe Road Project, demonstrated cognate experience as they deployed personnel with the needed expertise and engineering ingenuity to complete the job in record time.
Hon Aniagwu noted that from
the quality of job done coupled with the speed , the precision and the engineering expertise displayed
in the construction of Okpolo/Enhwe/Uwheru Road (Phase 2) it goes a long way to
show that our indigenous companies can walk shoulder high with foreign firms if they are properly motivated.
Hon Victor Asasa, The Executive Chairman, lsoko South Local Government Area in his goodwill message stated that Governnor Sheriff Oborevwori with a harvest of Projects lined up to be Commissoned, within the First 100 Days in Office has proven his mettle beyond all reasonable doubt
that he truly meant well for Deltans
as a man of capacity with uncommon admistrative sagacity, matching words with action using the instruments of the MORE Agenda
Hon Asasa, the lsoko South Council boss thanked all the traditional rulers present, particularly, the Royal Father of the day, HRM. The event was indeed a carnival as the Community was in a festive mood as the Governor proceeded to the Country home of High Chief Emonena Victor Wayles Egukawhore (JP), the
Chairman of De Wayles Group of Companies to pay a courtesy visit immediately after the event, where he was ushered into a warm reception.
