FUAHSE Clarifies Status of Graduates, Affirms Full Professional Recognition Amid NYSC Mobilization Concerns
The management of the Federal University of Allied Health Sciences Enugu has reassured the public that all graduates of the former Federal College of Dental Technology and Therapy Enugu are fully qualified professionals, duly recognized and licensed to practice in their respective fields without any hindrance.
This clarification was contained in a press release issued by the institution’s Public Relations Officer, Kayode Taiwo, in response to growing concerns over the delay in the mobilization of its graduates for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
According to the statement, the need for clarification became necessary following inquiries and apprehension among former students regarding their eligibility for national service. The management explained that the delay is largely due to the recent transition of the college into a full-fledged university—now barely two years old—a development it described as a significant milestone achieved through the academic excellence of its graduates and the dedication of its leadership.
The institution noted that the transition process temporarily impacted administrative procedures, including NYSC mobilization, but assured that the situation is now under control. It added that proactive steps are already being taken to address all outstanding concerns affecting the affected graduates.
Reaffirming the professional standing of its alumni, the university emphasized that all graduates have been fully registered and licensed by relevant regulatory bodies, including the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria and the Dental Therapists Registration Board of Nigeria. These certifications, according to the management, confer full professional recognition and enable graduates to secure gainful employment across the healthcare sector.
While acknowledging the importance of NYSC mobilization, the university assured stakeholders that the process will be completed in due course, urging patience and understanding from affected graduates.
The management further reiterated its commitment to sustaining and advancing the institution’s legacy of academic and professional excellence, noting that despite its relatively young status as a university, it remains focused on building a stronger reputation in allied health sciences education.
The statement concluded with a reaffirmation of the university’s resolve to leave no stone unturned in addressing the concerns of its students and alumni, while continuing to uphold the high standards that have defined the institution over the years.
