“Igbo Spirit Continues to Shine in Nigeria’s Enterprise Space” – Chief Edward David Onoja
Chief Edward David Onoja, former Deputy Governor of Kogi State and current Board member of the South East Development Commission, has highlighted the resilience and excellence of the Igbo spirit in Nigeria’s enterprise space.
He cited examples such as Chief Izuchukwu JP, a pioneer entrepreneur who founded what is now NATACO in Lokoja in 1977, and Kelvin (Pompey), who recently commissioned ‘Bracha 2.0′ in Abuja.
As a board member of the South East Development Commission, Onoja has witnessed firsthand the innovative and welcoming nature of the Igbo people across Ebonyi, Enugu, Anambra, Abia, and Imo.
He believes integration and rebuilding efforts are yielding positive results.
During a recent trip to Kaduna, Onoja emphasized the need for improved road safety and infrastructure.
He plans to discuss this issue with former Governor David Umahi and praised Governor Uba Sani’s efforts to unite the people of Kaduna.
Onoja also paid respects to former Inspector General of Police Alhaji Aliyu Ibrahim Atta, stressing the importance of synergy between security agencies and state governors.
At the International Creatives’ Summit 2025, Onoja noted that creatives must view their industry as a multi-million-dollar global economy.
He urged the government to protect intellectual property and patent rights, recognizing the creative industry’s significant contribution to Nigeria’s economy.
Onoja remains optimistic about Nigeria’s progress under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, emphasizing the importance of national integration and unity in driving the country’s growth.
