The governor also paid glowing tribute to the Chairman of the Foundation and former Governor of Kano State, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, describing his contributions to the growth of Islam and religious enlightenment as remarkable and worthy of emulation.

Governor Yusuf made the commendation during a special prayer session organised by the Foundation at Dr. Ganduje’s residence in Kano to pray for sustained peace, unity, and stability in Kano State and Nigeria.

The prayer gathering attracted prominent Islamic scholars from across Kano State and featured a significant milestone as 370 non-Muslims embraced Islam during the programme. The new converts were warmly received and presented with gifts to support them as they begin their new spiritual journey.

Governor Yusuf expressed appreciation to Dr. Ganduje for his dedication to Islamic propagation and humanitarian service, praying that Almighty Allah would continue to grant him good health, wisdom, and strength to sustain his efforts in serving humanity and promoting the religion.
Addressing the new converts, the governor urged them to devote themselves to the pursuit of Islamic knowledge so they could properly understand and observe their religious obligations in accordance with the teachings of the Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

He further prayed for Allah’s guidance and steadfastness upon the new Muslims, encouraging them to remain God-fearing, uphold righteousness in their daily lives, and contribute positively to society. He also appreciated all individuals and organisations whose support ensured the successful hosting of the event, urging them to sustain their commitment to similar initiatives.

In his remarks, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje prayed for lasting peace, unity, and socio-economic prosperity in Kano State and across Nigeria. He also offered prayers for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, asking Almighty Allah to grant him good health, wisdom, and success in steering the affairs of the nation.
The former governor commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for his commitment to promoting peace, unity, and the welfare of the people through his administration’s “Kano First Agenda,” describing him as a hardworking and focused leader.

Dr. Ganduje congratulated the new Muslim converts and encouraged them to remain steadfast in their faith by adhering to the teachings of the Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah. He reaffirmed the Ganduje Foundation Islamic Da’awa Centre’s commitment to expanding Islamic propagation, supporting humanitarian causes, and fostering peaceful coexistence in Kano State and beyond.

Among the dignitaries who attended the event were the Senator representing Kano South Senatorial District, Senator Abdulrahman Kawu Sumaila, as well as respected Islamic scholars from the Tijjaniyya, Qadiriyya, and Izala groups across the state. The occasion concluded with special prayers for peace, national unity, and continued development, alongside the presentation of gifts to the new Muslim converts.
