Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, represented by his deputy, Elder Joel Salifu Oyibo has launched two 18-seater buses donated by Hon. James Abiodun Faleke for the Ekinrin-Adde Community Development Association (EACDA) Transport Scheme, now branded “Ekinrin-Adde Express”.
The commissioning took place on Saturday during the 2026 Ekinrin-Adde Day Cultural Festival in the presence of His Royal Majesty, Oba Anthony Bamigbaiye CON, the Olu Adde of Ekinrin-Adde, representatives of Governor Abayomi Oyebanji and Babagana Zulum of Ekiti and Borno states, traditional rulers, community leaders, and hundreds of indigenes.
Governor Ododo praised Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, member of the House of Representatives for Ikeja Federal Constituency and Chairman, House Committee on Finance, for the gesture.
He said the buses would address the long-standing transportation challenges faced by students, traders, and residents traveling between Ekinrin-Adde and other towns in Ijumu LGA, Lokoja and other destinations within the country.
“This intervention aligns with our administration’s commitment to improving rural mobility and reducing the cost of transport for our people,” the governor stated. “I urge the community to protect these assets and use them responsibly for collective benefit.”
Oba Bamigbaiye described the donation as timely and a direct response to the people’s need.
He commended Faleke for remembering his roots and pledged the community’s support to ensure the “Ekinrin-Adde Express” scheme succeeds.
The transport scheme is expected to provide affordable, safe, and reliable movement for residents, reduce pressure on private vehicles, and boost economic activities within the community.
The highlight of the celebration was the commissioning of projects facilitated by Hon. James Faleke, including the sports arena in the community, the conferment of chieftaincy titles on deserving personalities, and the raising of a ₦750 million development fund for the community.
