Gov’ship Race: Stepping Down Rumor, an Insult on Our Collective Sensibilty – Olayinka Braimoh’s Campaign Team

The Olayinka Braimoh Campaign Team has distanced itself from a purported stepping down agreement signed by their Principal, Otunba Olayinka Braimoh with another yet to be identified candidate, ahead of the November 11th governorship election in Kogi State, describing it as an insult on their collective sensibility.

A statement by Musa Olumayowa Yakubu on behalf of the Olayinka Braimoh Campaign Team in Lokoja called on the public to disregard the rumour in totality.

In his rebuttal, Musa said, “Our attention has been drawn to a rumour being spread around by some desperate people claiming that the Action Alliance (AA) governorship candidate in the November 11 election, Otunba Olayinka Braimoh has stepped down for a yet to be identified candidate.

“This is a lie from the pit of hell and an insult on not just our candidate, Olayinka Braimoh but on the collective sensibility of his campaign team. As far as we, in the Action Alliance (AA) and Olayinka Braimoh Campaign Organisation are concerned, nothing of such has taken place.

“We, therefore, call on supporters of the Action Alliance (AA) and its gubernatorial candidate, Olayinka Braimoh, to ignore these false claims and continue with the ongoing consultation, retstructuring and mobilisation.

“Some people are not comfortable with the rising profile of Olayinka Braimoh and wide acceptance that his message of wealth creation, distribution, and retention is enjoying among the populace. That is why they are pulling all tricks to detract our candidate from proceeding in the race. it is important that we, therefore, reiterate that Otunba Braimoh’s aspiration to become the next Governor of Kogi State is not a prelude to an “arrangee orchestral” but a manifest destiny that has been ordained by God himself, the giver of power”.

“If those who are forging and circulating false statements about the so-called stepping down arrangement cannot come out openly by publishing details of such, then the public should be able to decipher who are the real purveyors of untruth. Suffice to say our candidate is too busy and assiduously working on how to take the state out of poverty than to be nursing any stepping down idea”.

“Whether they like it or not, Olayinka Braimoh is the next governor of Kogi State”
