Hon. Mrs Margaret Olaoye to Receive Ekinrin-Adde Lifetime Achievement Award

The Ekinrin-Adde Community Development Association (EACDA) has nominated the Secretary to Ijumu Local Government, Hon. Mrs. Olaoye Margaret Yetunde, as a recipient of Lifetime Achievement Award.

The nomination, according to the EACDA Spokesman, Pastor Emmanuel Ajibola, is part of the community’s ongoing efforts to honour a few eminent indigenes who have made significant contributions to the community and humanity through their professions.

Hon. Mrs Olaoye Margaret Yetunde (Nee Olutekunbi) was born on 29 May some decades ago. She was raised with strong values of discipline and service.

She started her educational journey at Egbe Teachers College, Egbe, Kogi State, where she studied between 1976 and 1981. She proceeded to the College of Education, Oro, Kwara State, from 1984 to 1987, where she further strengthened her foundation in education.

She later gained admission into the University of Ilorin, Kwara State, where she studied between 1991 and 1996. She also obtained a Computer Skills Certificate in 2012.

Hon. Mrs. Margaret Olaoye’s professional journey is a remarkable story of steady growth. She began her career as a classroom teacher in 1981 and served in that capacity until 1993.

Her dedication earned her promotion to the position of Headmistress, a role she held from 1994 to 2009. During this period, she provided effective leadership by mentoring both teachers and pupils under her supervision.

In 2009, she was appointed School Supervisor, a position she held until 2013. Her responsibilities expanded to monitoring educational standards, providing guidance to school administrators, and ensuring effective implementation of educational policies within the local government area.

She was later appointed as the Education Secretary of Ijumu Local Government, Kogi State, between 2013 and 2017.

Her outstanding record of service and administrative competence eventually led to her appointment as Secretary to Ijumu Local Government, Kogi State, in 2024 where she is serving to date.

The Lifetime Achievement Award is a testament to her invaluable contributions to education and public administration, as well as her enduring commitment to service.
