ICON OF STUDENTS/COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT: Kabba Students Union honour Omoluabi Bode Adeyemi with Award of excellence, says he’s a Student’s friendly Politician

The Special Adviser to Governor Yahaya Bello on Civil Service and Labour Matters, Omoluabi Bode Adeyemi has been conferred with award of icon of Students/Community Development by the national body of the Kabba Students Union. The award according to the students leaders is in recognition of Omoluabi’s invaluable Community and Students developmental strides which had great impact in 2023.

The award presentation which was done during the 2023 Miss KSU and award night at the Kabba Township Hall. The award presentation was alongside other recipients who have been identified for various Community Development service.

While presenting the award on behalf of the students body, a Frontline PDP Leader in Kabba/Bunu and Oil and Gas businessman, Mr Michael Toluhi said Omoluabi was qualified for the award because of his giant strides in promoting Community and Students development. He commended the recipient for his untiring spirit and resolve to promote the students in their academic and leadership development pursuit.

In his response, the award recipient and Special Adviser to the Governor on Civil Service and Labour Matters, Omoluabi Bode Adeyemi appreciated the students body for recognizing him such an award. He said he was elated, humbled and grateful for being recognized because of his service to father land.

Omoluabi said he didn’t feel he deserved to be honored with the award by any students body because the association was the very one that provided him the foundational opportunity to learn leadership at very early stage of life, stating that whatever he does for students is a way of paying back to the system the offered him all he needed to build foundation of leadership he enjoy today.

The Special Adviser says the union in their days nurtured and offered platform for learning and understanding leadership.

*I feel highly exhilarated and elated to be honoured with this award. Today gives me a lot of reasons for introspection and to also give glory to God for journey of service from my days as a Student’s Union leader two decades ago, up till this moment. I can’t deny the mercy of God and the platform KSU offered me as a Student’s Leader that have brought me this far. I therefore feel that rather than being honored with award, I am the one that should continue to give back to the association that offered me all the opportunities that have brought me this long. Whatever support I have given this noble association that gave me all while growing, is out of a grateful heart who knows the quality of personal and leadership development I gained from the union while growing. I therefore rededicate myself to the service of the community and mentorship to the members of the union that gave me an unshakable foundation to function in life* Omoluabi says

He encouraged the current students to remain focused, consistent and unyielding, saying that the best place to learn leadership for a brighter future is at the students union activities. He urged the students to imbibe spirit of selflessness, patriotism and good leadership, stating that it is a process that will promote and offer them the opportunity of better and fulfilling future.
