The Executive Chairman of Ifelodun Local Government, Hon. Hadji Abdulrasheed Femi Yusuf, has rolled out the scorecard of his administration, highlighting projects across health, infrastructure, security, agriculture, and youth empowerment within his first year in office.
Speaking at a press briefing to mark the anniversary in Ilorin, Yusuf described the past year as “a period of transformative growth and visible impact,” stressing that his administration has remained committed to complementing the policies of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
“Our goal has been to ensure development reaches every corner of Ifelodun,” he said. “In just one year, we have touched over 100 communities with projects that have improved lives, enhanced security, and strengthened communal ties.”
Among the achievements listed were the construction and renovation of primary healthcare centres in Oroke, Labaka Oja, Ofarese, Iyana Share, and other communities, provision of solar-powered motorized boreholes in several wards, installation of solar streetlights, grading and expansion of key rural roads, and equipping of health facilities with medical supplies.
On security, Yusuf noted the provision of motorcycles to police stations, support for vigilante groups, and collaboration with traditional rulers to issue identity cards for residents, aimed at curbing the activities of non-state actors.
“Security remains a top priority. We are working hand-in-hand with state and federal agencies to ensure safety and stability,” he said.
The chairman also highlighted agricultural interventions, including the rehabilitation of four abandoned tractors, training of 40 livestock farmers, and support for mechanized farming.
He added that 41 students were sponsored to study health-related courses at Kwara State Polytechnic of Health Technology to boost manpower in the sector.
Youth engagement also received attention with the introduction of the Chairman’s Cup football competition, designed to foster unity across the 18 wards of Ifelodun.
Looking ahead, Yusuf assured residents that his administration will focus more on road construction, education, healthcare, and security in its second year.
He called for unity and prayers for lasting peace. “Let us set politics aside and work together for the prosperity of Ifelodun and Kwara State as a whole,” he appealed.
Chairman of the Correspondents Chapel, Abdulhakeem Garba, commended Yusuf’s performance, describing it as worthy of note. “Let the whole world know what he has been able to do, and we assure him that the media will remain partners in progress with Ifelodun Local Government,” Garba stated
