Igalamela Odolu Council boss flags off distribution of second round of food palliatives, security Vehicles

The Transition Committee Chairman of Igala Mela/Odolu Local Government in Kogi State, Honorable Barrister Cosmas Ilemona Atabor, has officially launched the distribution of food palliatives to the residents of the local government area, in accordance with the state government’s directives.
The second phase of the palliative distribution which took place on Monday, at the Local Government Secretariat marks the continuation of the relief efforts aimed at supporting members of the community affected by the economic hardship.
During a meeting with the Ward Palliative Committee, the Transition Committee Chairman expressed his gratitude to His Excellency Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman for distributing food palliatives from the federal government’s strategic grain reserve and commended the efforts of the federal government in providing relief to those in need, demonstrating a unified commitment to supporting citizens during difficult times.
“Hon (Barr) Atabor announced that out of the 980 bags of grains allocated to the local government, 7 bags will be distributed to each of the 140 polling units aimed at providing vital relief to those who need it most, demonstrating the government’s commitment to supporting vulnerable members of the community.”
In the same vein, Hon (Barr) Atabor presented five (5) vehicles and two (2) motorbikes donated by the state government to local vigilantees, bolstering their security efforts.
According to the chairman, the strategic initiative by the state government will enhance the agency’s capacity to respond promptly and effectively to incidents, patrol the area with greater efficiency, and prevent criminal activities.
The fleet, which includes five (5) fully equipped vehicles and two (2) high-performance motorbikes, will be deployed to strategic locations to ensure maximum coverage and impact. The vehicles are fitted with state-of-the-art communication systems, enabling real-time coordination and response to emerging security threats.
