INEC Submit Voter Register of 822 Polling Units: at the Plateau state Governorship Tribunal.
Hearing Continues at the Governorship Tribunal as the Petitioners tendered more documents and witnesses to prove their case,
At the Resumption of hearing on Monday,the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Complied with the Directive of the Tribunal to submit all Documents requested by the Petitioners on the subpoena issued to them.
The Commission last week brought only few hard copies of the documents with the CD containing the E.Copy of the remaining documents.
The Lead Counsel to the Petitioners, Professor Kayode Olatoke quickly drew the attention of the Tribunal to issue an order to INEC to submit all the documents in hard copies.
An Assistant Director from Registry Department of the Commission Festus Aisien, appears before the Tribunal on Monday and submit the documents,said my Lord’s,last week we were here with few copies of voter register for the Governorship election of 15 Local government Areas of Plateau states, in 15 wards and 822 polling units.
The Petitioners Lead Counsel, Professor Kayode Olatoke after appreciating the Tribunal for the assistance to ensure the documents are brought as requested, said what the subpoena requested is 168 polling units voter register.
The Tribunal ordered the Petitioners to arrange and mark the documents before they tender them before 9:30 Am which the hearing starts.
The Petitioners proceeded with their case by calling their next witness PW13, if you will be recalled,PW 12 was disqualified on Saturday as incompetent because he was not listed by the Petitioners at their schedule of witnesses after being affirmed already,he was disqualified and discharged.
The PW 13 introduce himself as Emmanuel Nannim, I leave in Batkilang ,Langtang North LGA.
Professor Olatoke who led him in examination in chief reminded him of his deposition in paragraph 2 where he referred to form EC8B in respect to Zamko Polling unit.Certified True Copies and duplicates results sheets were given to him for identification.
Nanbol Nwanap,Also from Zamko Langtang North LGA also testified as PW14 .
The PW 15 who said her name is Deborah from Angwan Lagos 1,Tudun Wada and there is a typographical error on her statement,they wrote male instead of female.
The Application which opposed by the Counsel to All the respondents.
The Petitioners Counsel, Professor Kayode Olatoke appeal to the Tribunal to allow the correction since it is a minor one.
He relied on the case of INEC versus Action Congress in 2009.
He urged the Tribunal to allowed the amendment because it is a mere misnomer.
The Tribunal granted the request in favor of the Petitioners.
The Respondents through their counsels cross examine all the three witnesses that testified.
