Joy in Ajaokuta as Christiana Odimayo Weds Kogi Police Officer Lawrence Sunday

It was a vibrant celebration of love and unity in Ajaokuta, Kogi State, as young entrepreneur Christiana Adenike Odimayo exchanged marital vows with respected police officer, Lawrence Ekpo Sunday.

The colourful ceremony, attended by dignitaries, family members, friends, and well-wishers, drew commendations from far and near, with guests describing the union as divinely ordained.

Families of the couple, alongside associates, expressed gratitude to God for the successful solemnisation, noting that the marriage symbolizes love, commitment, and shared values.

Speaking at the event, the bride’s father, Abayomi Odimayo, said the family willingly gave their daughter’s hand in marriage after the groom fulfilled all necessary traditional rites and obligations.

“Our family is known for discipline, strong values, and raising children who contribute positively to society. We are proud to give our daughter in marriage today,” he said.

He described the groom as “one of the finest police officers in Nigeria,” adding, “Marriage is a blessing ordained by God. We are confident that Lawrence will take good care of our daughter and build a home rooted in the fear of God.”

Odimayo further advised the couple to remain focused and avoid external distractions, stressing the importance of patience and mutual understanding.

“Marriage thrives on tolerance and sacrifice. You must learn to endure and support one another through every phase of life,” he added.

Also speaking, a respected family elder, popularly known as Olowo, expressed joy at witnessing what he described as a historic occasion, urging the couple to uphold virtues of perseverance and love.

“I am deeply elated to be part of this celebration,” he said. “This union, taking place in the spirit of Easter, is a testament that God has ordained today. May He continue to bless this couple and grant them peace and harmony in their home.”

He further encouraged the newlyweds to build a family anchored on the teachings of Christ, marked by love, patience, and dedication.

In their remarks, the newly married couple expressed appreciation to God and all guests for their support and presence.

“We are grateful to God for bringing us together. Our love will continue to grow from strength to strength,” they said. “We sincerely appreciate everyone who honoured our invitation and shared in our joy.”

The ceremony attracted a wide array of guests, including top-ranking police officers such as the Head of the Quick Response Unit in Kogi State, Obafemi Ojo, and the immediate past Police Public Relations Officer, William Ovye Aya. Also in attendance were religious leaders, traditional rulers, and prominent members of the Ajaokuta community.

The event concluded with prayers and goodwill messages for the couple as they embark on their marital journey.
