Kabba/Bunu APC Chairmanship: Otu Ward Endorses Hon. Olorunsaiye Sunday, Reaffirms Commitment to Fairness, Loyalty to Party Structure, and Grassroots Humility
Ahead of the party congress scheduled to hold next month, the executive members and stakeholders of the ruling All Progressives Congress in Otu Ward have unanimously endorsed Hon. Olorunsaiye Sunday (popularly known as Regards) for the chairmanship position in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area.
Hon. Olorunsaiye, an aspirant, has reiterated his commitment to fairness, equity, and strict adherence to party procedures, as he formally declared his intention to the executives and stakeholders of Otu Ward.
The aspirant emphasized that his ward remains his first port of call in all political engagements, describing Otu Ward as his political home and foundation.
According to him, the decision to formally announce his intention at the ward level was borne out of respect for party structure, internal democracy, and due process, which he believes must guide all aspirations within the APC.
Hon. Olorunsaiye categorically dispelled insinuations that he is aligned or loyal to any particular aspirant, noting that such labels does not reflect his principles.
He stressed that his leadership style, as demonstrated during his tenure as Ward Chairman and Chairman of Ward Chairmen in Kabba/Bunu, has always been impartial, inclusive, and issue-driven, irrespective of personal relationships.
“The party belongs to all of us. No individual owns the APC, and no aspiration should be promoted or suppressed on the basis of personal ties. If entrusted with this responsibility, I will be chairman for all, fair, just, and accountable,” he assured.
Stakeholders at the meeting unanimously endorsed Hon. Olorunsaiye Sunday, describing him as a grassroots politician of proven humility, whose influence in the community is built not on arrogance or imposition, but on service, accessibility, and respect.
They noted that despite the wide respect he commands across Kabba/Bunu Local Government, he has consistently remained modest, consultative, and loyal to party leadership at all levels.
The ward executives and stakeholders further attested to his track record of fairness in managing ward affairs, his transparent handling of party matters, and his personal sacrifices toward strengthening the APC since its inception in 2014.
They expressed confidence that these qualities will translate into inclusive and credible leadership at the local government level.
Hon. Olorunsaiye reaffirmed his loyalty to the APC’s ideals at ward, local government, state, and federal levels, pledging to administer the party in a manner that promotes unity, internal cohesion, and equal opportunity for all aspirants.
He concluded by calling on party leaders and members across Kabba/Bunu to judge him by his record of fairness, and humility, rather than unfounded perceptions, and to continue working collectively for the growth and success of the APC.
Present at the meeting were Chief Julius Arokoyo, Hon. Raphael Ojo, Hon Ben Olorunsaiye, Ward Councilor, Hon (Mrs) Lola Otitoyomi, Chief Olugbemi Femi, Rev. Femi Maiye, Women Leader, Mrs Esther Peters, all party executives, and other stakeholders, while Pastor Samuel Ajinuhi, who could not attend, but made phone call to eulogize both party executives and stakeholders for their steadfastness in working for the progress of the party and the unanimous decision to support Hon, Olorunsaiye Sunday.
