Kogi APC: Taofiq Isa Sounds Unity Alarm, Urges Stakeholders to Close Ranks, Reject Division and Protect Ododo–Faleke Political Harmony

***Says Political Differences Must Not Override Collective Interest of Kogi APC

The Director-General of the Kogi State Utility Infrastructure Maintenance Agency (KUIMCA), Hon. Taofiq Isa, has appealed to stakeholders, leaders, supporters and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi State to embrace peace, unity and mutual understanding amid prevailing political tensions within the party.

Isa, a former Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) boss, urged APC stakeholders to subordinate personal differences and political ambitions to the collective interest of the party and the broader development of Kogi State.

In a statement, the KUIMCA Director-General acknowledged that disagreements are inherent in political organisations, but cautioned that such differences should not be allowed to degenerate into division capable of weakening the party’s cohesion and political structure.

He appealed to party members and supporters to exercise restraint, avoid inflammatory rhetoric and resolve disagreements through dialogue, consultation and constructive political engagement.

According to him, the APC remains a political family, stressing that unity and internal cohesion are indispensable to sustaining the party’s strength and ensuring that its leadership remains focused on good governance and delivering democratic dividends to the people.

Isa also called on party faithful to respect one another, work collectively and support peaceful political processes in the overall interest of Kogi State and the APC.

Warning Against Manufactured Division

The former ALGON boss particularly cautioned individuals allegedly working to create unnecessary friction between the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, and Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, urging them to immediately desist from what he described as “shameful and divisive acts.”

He maintained that attempts to manufacture political crisis or create distrust between prominent leaders could only be counterproductive, warning that such actions risk distracting the party’s leadership from the more important responsibility of governance and service to the people.

Isa argued that the political stability of Kogi State requires responsible leadership, mature political engagement and a collective commitment to protecting the unity of the ruling party.

Isa Commends Ododo’s Leadership

The KUIMCA Director-General also commended Governor Ododo for what he described as his humility, maturity and commitment to peace, unity and development across Kogi State.

He said the Governor’s efforts to promote reconciliation and bridge political and personal divides among Kogites deserve commendation and sustained support.

Isa further described the cordial relationship between Governor Ododo, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Hon. James Abiodun Faleke and former Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello as a positive political development that should be encouraged rather than undermined.

He noted that cooperation and mutual respect among political leaders would strengthen the state’s political architecture and create an enabling environment for sustainable development.

<span;>> “We must encourage unity among our leaders and resist every attempt to create unnecessary division. Kogi State belongs to all of us, and its progress must remain greater than our individual political interests,” Isa stated.

He therefore urged Kogites, particularly APC members and supporters, to rally behind peace, unity and constructive political engagement while supporting the administration’s development agenda.

Isa prayed for continued wisdom, strength and divine guidance for Governor Ododo as he leads the state, stressing that the collective prosperity of Kogi should remain the ultimate political objective.

Signed:
Alhaji Taofiq Isa
