Kogi East 2027: Ankpa Standstill, Olamaboro Agog As PDP Muhammed Abdullahi Elephant’s Declaration, Defection of NNPP Structure,

It was historic on Monday , coinciding with the celebration of Easter Monday by the Christians, as PDP Muhammed Abdullahi ‘, “Elephant” declared his intentions to run for Kogi East Senate in his ancestral home , Ankpa, in Ankpa local government after the official declaration in Idah , the heart and cradle of Igala nation, with large members and followers, decamping of the entire structures in the local government from New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP to People’s Democratic Party, PDP in continuation of his consultations
The official declaration and notification by the Alhaji Muhammed Abdullahi,aka “Elephant ” was held at his political ward in Ankpa 2 to run for the forthcoming Senate from Kogi East, so as to attract needed development to the area, along with other members of other political parties, as “Charity Begins from Home “.
As part of the activities of the notable political figure from the area and PDP hopeful, his declaration was also followed simultaneously with the movement of the entire structures of NNPP from ward , local government which included the executive committee members across the 13 wards of Ankpa local government to the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, with high hope of clinging the senatorial seat of Kogi East through retention of the traditional political party of the area known for three decades,the PDP.

While addressing the gathering in Ankpa, the PDP Senatorial aspirant , Alhaji Muhammed Abdullahi, “Elephant” expressed satisfaction with the large turn out of supporters across political divide,and the confidence reposed in him by the people of Ankpa local government, stating that politics is local and grassroot, as his forthcoming victory under PDP will be a win- win elections.
As the sole sponsor of the New Nigeria People’s Party NNPP in the last five years and the 2023 general elections in Kogi state and Nigeria, the people and party leaders who defected to the PDP in Ankpa assured him of their full supports, while the PDP members said his coming was homecoming.
He reminded the people of Ankpa that Kogi East Senate has eluded the area for many years ,as Olamaboro did twice even as the baby of Ankpa local government, after the creation of Omala and Olamaboro local government area out of it, with Senator Andrew Abogede and Senator Atai Aidoko Ali all from Olamaboro , while Omala produced the state governor, Alhaji Ibrahim idris, stating that it is the turn of Ankpa in the present dispensation and in 2027 general elections.
The train of would be victory for PDP aspirant, Mohammed Abdullahi, Elephant also visited Olamaboro local government area to solicit for the people’s support in the forthcoming dispensation.
While in Okpo, large numbers of supporters welcome him at the occasion including friends, well wishers from other political divide which included the ruling All progressives Congress, APC.
In his address at Okpo ,he paid glowing tributes to the two former Senators, Andrew Abogede, Atai Aidoko with a promise to build on their success story when at the red chamber.
After many hours of deliberation on his intentions, the official declaration before the PDP party leaders, executive committee members in Olamaboro LGA,
Alhaji Muhammed Abdullahi Elephant described Olamaboro as his second home, and that he is politically safe and stable whenever he is around for political mobilization.
Highlights of the occasion included the official decamping of the NNPP structure of 10 wards of Olamaboro local government executive committee members and the entire local government executives who all joined the party.
Elephant in his bid to realize his political aspiration as PDP candidate in the 2027 general elections is expected to visit nine local government areas of Kogi state in the coming days ..
