Kogi Innovation Commissioner Visits Technology Incubation Centre In Lokoja, Promises Government Collaborations
The commissioner for Innovation, Science and Technology in Kogi State, Dr. Adeniyi Aderibigbe Helen has promised government collaboration with Technology Incubation Centre Lokoja.
Aderibigbe accompanied by the Director of Administration Mrs Rose Ibrahim, was received by the Centre Manager, Engr. Bodunwa Omoniyi, other staff and a group of small scale entrepreneur in the centre on 22nd May 2024.
Recalled, The Centre Manager, Technology Incubation Centre Lokoja, Engr. Bodunwa Omoniyi last week led a team of staff to congratulate the commissioner on her appointment and pledged to work in synergy with the new Ministry.
The Center Manager took the bull by the horns to explain the mission of National Board of Technological Innovations (NBTI) and the roles of Incubation Centres in the development of Kogi State economy.
He added that even though, the centre was created by the Federal Government, Kogi State Government, has a lot to gain collaborating with the centre.
According to him, the centre has enormous potential in the areas of nuturing start-ups, providing enabling environment for commercialization of product, encouraging R&D for value addition as well as providing necessary capacity building for the teeming unemployed youths in the State.
He further reiterated that the state government assistance is urgently needed to braze up other development plans for the actualization of the center’s mandates. He is looking forward to more cooperate synergy and necessary assistance from the governor, Alhaji, Usman Ahmed Ododo.
In her remarks, Aderibigbe applauded the Centre Manager, and all the staff for their contributions to the State especially in the area of small scale entrepreneurship and their efforts to support the economic growth of the state.
The commissioner said one of the greatest achievement of the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo was the creation of the Ministry of Innovation Science and Technology, and therefore, assured them of the governor’s readiness to grow Kogi State to an enviable height with technological innovation.
The commissioner also met with the group of entrepreneur who operate within the premises. They expressed their appreciation to the state government for the conducive environment and urged the government to assist them especially in the provision of electricity. She applauded their efforts, however assured that her office will collaborate adequately to ensure that the center’s proposal would be enhanced for immediate attention and action, so as to effectively and efficiently direct service delivery and creates more jobs for the unemployed youths in the State.
The Commissioner was taken round the premises to assess the Centre’s facilities.
