Kogi State Police Command Holds Strategic Security Meeting with LG Chairmen and Security Heads
Lokoja, Nigeria – The Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Police Command, CP Naziru Bello Kankarofi, convened a high-level Strategic Security meeting at the Command Headquarters Conference Hall, Lokoja, on Monday, November 18, 2025.
According to the press statement signed by CSP William Ovye Aya, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, and made available to newsmen in Lokoja.
The meeting aimed to strengthen security operations and enhance collective efforts toward ensuring peace and safety across the state. CP Kankarofi commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for his efforts in securing Kogi State and acknowledged the governor’s commitment to supporting collaborative security initiatives.
The commissioner emphasized the importance of synergy between security agencies, Local Government Chairmen, and the police to sustain a secure Kogi State. He stressed that improved intelligence sharing and inter-agency collaboration are crucial to addressing security concerns, noting that community policing initiatives will be intensified to enhance public trust and cooperation.
State Security Adviser, Commodore Jerry Omodara (Rtd), emphasized that synergy is key to improving security in Kogi State, commending CP Kankarofi for the initiative. He expressed confidence that Governor Ododo’s administration is making strides in security and will continue to support collaborative security initiatives.
The meeting was attended by security heads, Local Government Chairmen, and police officials, who discussed the security situation in the state, reviewed crime trends, and identified emerging threats and operational challenges.
The CP emphasized the need for improved intelligence sharing, stronger inter-agency collaboration, and closer community partnership to address security concerns effectively. The meeting provided a platform for Local Government Chairmen to speak on situations within their LGAs, make suggestions, and highlight areas requiring attention.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP Christopher Bassey, commended participants for their commitment to securing the state, stressing the need for sustained collaboration and vigilance.
The meeting was part of the command’s renewed commitment to strengthening security operations and enhancing collective efforts toward ensuring peace and safety across the state.
