KOGI WEST PROGRESSIVES FORUM: ANONYMOUS PROPAGANDA CAN’T REWRITE APC SENATORIAL PRIMARY OUTCOME
LOKOJA- — The Kogi West Progressives Forum has dismissed a statement purportedly issued by an “Okun Youth Leaders and Stakeholders Forum” endorsing Hon. Sam Aro Bemidele, saying anonymous propaganda cannot alter the outcome of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Senatorial primary in Kogi West.
In a press statement signed by its Secretary, Comrade Musa Muhammad, the group described the unsigned statement as “laughable” and accused the authors of attempting to distort facts surrounding the APC Senatorial primary after failing at the polls.
“The so-called forum is unknown to the people of Kogi West. It has no identifiable leadership, no known membership, and no visible structure,” the statement read.
“It exists only in press statements and social media publications, making it nothing more than a convenient platform created by politically desperate individuals.”
The forum faulted the lack of accountability in the statement, noting that no president, secretary, or responsible officer was named. “Public advocacy demands openness, not anonymity,” it said.
It affirmed that the APC Kogi West Senatorial Primary was conducted peacefully, freely, and credibly under the supervision of the party, with delegates freely exercising their constitutional right.
“Senator Sunday Karimi emerged as the duly nominated candidate of the party,” the group stated.
According to the forum, Hon. Sam Aro Bemidele was not present at the primary election and the outcome was accepted by participants.
“Any attempt to rewrite history through media campaigns cannot alter the official outcome of a validly conducted primary election,” it added.
The Kogi West Progressives Forum called on APC members across the senatorial district to disregard faceless groups whose mission is to distract the party and create controversy.
It urged stakeholders to focus on unity and reconciliation ahead of the forthcoming general election.
“The mandate freely given to Senator Sunday Karimi remains intact and should be respected by all party faithful,” the statement concluded.
