Pro-Chancellor, Federal University of Education, Pankshin, Attends Governor Mutfwang’s Daughter’s Wedding, Affirms Plateau’s Peace and University’s Progress

The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council of the Federal University of Education (FUE), Pankshin, Hon. Dr. Funsho Ekundayo Olumoko, has congratulated Plateau State Governor, Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, his wife, and the family of the groom on the successful wedding of their daughter, Nanbam, to Jeremiah.

Dr. Olumoko, who attended the solemnization ceremony at the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) Headquarters in Jos on behalf of the university, prayed for God’s grace, love, and lasting marital bliss for the newly wedded couple.

Describing the ceremony as a huge success, the Pro-Chancellor said he was honoured to identify with Governor Mutfwang and the people of Plateau State on such a joyous occasion, noting that the celebration represented every parent’s dream for their children.

Speaking on the security situation in Plateau State, Dr. Olumoko dismissed negative perceptions about the state, insisting that Plateau remains peaceful and welcoming.

“I’m not a stranger to Plateau. I got this appointment in 2024 and I’ve been coming around. I can tell you that Plateau is very peaceful. Yes, there are pockets of issues happening around, just like it happens everywhere in the country. For those of us who have reason to come here, I can tell you that Plateau is a fantastic place. I encourage every Nigerian to visit,” he said.

He further expressed optimism that the state and the nation would continue to enjoy greater peace and stability.
The Pro-Chancellor also spoke glowingly about the progress being recorded at the Federal University of Education, Pankshin, attributing the institution’s rapid development to divine favour, effective management, and the unwavering support of the University Council.
“I am happy with what God is doing in that place, with what the management is doing, and with the kind of maximum support from the Council. Everything is working well in the university. Our vision, by God’s grace, is to be the best in the North Central as quickly as possible, and then in the entire North,” he stated.
Dr. Olumoko urged the Vice-Chancellor, management, staff, and students of the institution to continue working in unity and maintaining peace to achieve the university’s lofty aspirations.
According to him, collaboration and peaceful coexistence remain critical ingredients for institutional growth and excellence. The wedding ceremony, which attracted dignitaries from within and outside Plateau State, featured prayers, thanksgiving, and colourful celebrations before culminating in a grand reception at the Landfield Event Centre in Jos.
