Kunchi grassroots politicians return to APC weeks after Kwankwaso welcomed them to NNPP

Weeks after being welcomed by Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the Presidential Candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in the 2023 general elections, a group of stalwarts from our party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), staged a return today.
At the residence of the Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin, the group from Kunchi Local Government Area (LGA) of Kano State expressed their regret for joining the NNPP, a party that is known in only a few areas in Kano Central Senatorial District.
Before their reception by Kwankwaso, the Kano State Chairman of the NNPP, Alhaji Hashimu Dungurawa, visited Kunchi LGA to welcome APC members into their party.
However, today, under the leadership of Auwalu Kasuwar Kuka and Shamsu Susa, this group came to his residence to express their regrets about leaving the APC. They stated that they were misled into joining the NNPP and discarded their red caps like tissue, proclaiming that there is “nowhere better than home.”
While welcoming them back, Senator Barau expressed his surprise that they left the APC at a time when NNPP stalwarts across the 44 LGAs of our state are racing to join APC, the largest political party in Africa.
APC is the only party that is genuinely committed to addressing the masses’ challenges.
“In another development, I welcomed a group of grassroots leaders of NNPP from Makoda LGA to our party, including Alhaji Gambo Ibrahim Satame. Others are former councillors, youth leaders, local government officials and ward leaders”
“They announced their defection to the APC in my office at the National Assembly”
“Two of my distinguished colleagues, Senator Babangida Hussaini, Walin Kazaure (Jigawa North-West), and Senator Diket Plang (Plateau Central), joined me in receiving the new members”
The group of grassroots leaders was led by the Rt Hon Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari, of the Dambatta/Makoda Federal Constituency of Kano State House of Representatives, State Assembly Member, Hon. Muhammad Ahmad Tomas, APC Chairman of Makoda LGA Saidu Abdullahi, Caucus Chairman Sani Isa Makoda, among other leaders of our great party.
“I assured them of our commitment to transforming the political atmosphere in Kano by promoting justice, freedom, and peace among all party members.”
