Miss Nollywood international calls for more support for flood victims in Kogi, donates bags of rice in Adankolo IDP camp

Miss Nollywood international beauty Queen Hassana Ozohu Salisu has donated bags of rice worth millions of naira at the Adankolo IDP camp with a call on both national and international communities to come to the aide of flood victims in Kogi State.

Miss Salisu disclosed this on Saturday when she and her team visited the IDP camp in St Luke Primary Lokoja to see current condition of flood victims in the State.

The beauty Queen, while lamenting on the devastating effect of this year flood in Kogi noted that, there is urgent need to provide relief materials such as food stuff, toiletries, shelters to ameliorate the suffering of affected flood victims.

According to Miss Salisu, her organization, Sallhassy Empowerment Foundation will continue to support the vulnerable and the needy in the Country noting that this year flood in Kogi State calls for more concerns in the future.

“My heart is bleeding seeing the present conditions of these People. Whichever way we could do it, let all and sundry come and help Kogites who have lost all their belongings to this year flooding.

“Nothing is too small. Am using this medium to call on government at all level, public spirited individuals, including the international community to come to the aid of this People affected by flood in Kogi State. They really need help. It is not a mere media stunt.

‘It is for real. They should come and see things for themselves on how this year flood has wrecked havoc on many communities. Look at this IDP camp, the education of this innocent Children is under threat because they can no longer go to school.

” Also, the population here remains a thing of concern in view of the facilities available for their use. So, it is important we all assist them in our little way to cushion their predicament”.

Miss Salisu, however, added that she will use her good office to partner with various organizations that will assist flood victims in Kogi State.

It could be recalled that nine out of the 21 Local Government have been submerged by flood in Kogi State.

Adavi, Lokoja, Ofu, Ajaokuta, Kogi, Idaho, and Ibaji local governments are some of the areas badly affected by the flood disaster in Kogi State.
