Nigeria to Make Bold Climate Statement at COP30 as Engr. Abubakar Momoh Leads Strategic Side Event
Belém, Brazil – Nigeria is set to take centre stage at the COP30 conference, as Honourable Minister of Regional Development, Engr. Abubakar Momoh FNSE, hosts a high-level side event on Tuesday, 18th November 2025. The event, themed “Driving Investment for the Integrated Climate Action Plan (ICLAP-MRD) 2025–2030,” will showcase Nigeria’s commitment to climate-resilient regional development and attract global partnerships.
Scheduled to take place at the Nigeria Pavilion, the session will outline a forward-looking strategy aligning regional development with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Key focus areas include clean energy access, climate-smart infrastructure, flood and erosion control, sustainable livelihoods, and strengthened environmental governance across Regional Development Commissions.
Renowned speakers will include Minister of Environment Balarabe Abbas Lawal, Permanent Secretary Dr. Mary Ada Ogbe, Mohammed G. Alkali of Northeast Development Commission, Prof. Nicholas Ozor of ATPS Kenya, and Prof. Magnus Onuoha of WAGEDI, with Engr. Momoh leading the discussions.
