Ogidi Omo Movement Inaugurates New Members in Ijumu, Olumoko Commends Council Leadership

The Ogidi Omo Movement has further strengthened its grassroots presence across Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State with the formal inauguration of new members at the Ijumu Local Government Secretariat, Iyara.
The inauguration, held as part of the movement’s ongoing Grassroots Impact Programme, brought together political leaders, government officials, community stakeholders and supporters from various parts of the local government.
Among those present were the Executive Chairman of Ijumu Local Government, Alhaji Haruna Ibrahim; former Chairman of the council and Leader of the Ogidi Omo Movement, Hon. Dr. Funsho Ekundayo Olumoko, FNIMN, PhD; Vice Chairman, Hon. Muyiwa Ayedogbon; Special Adviser to the Governor on Produce Matters, Hon. Alex Ibikunle; the Director of Local Government Administration (DLG); NULGE Chairman and executive members, council officials and members of the movement.
Upon arrival at the council secretariat, Olumoko paid a courtesy visit to the office of the Director of Local Government Administration, where he commended the council’s administrative leadership for its commitment to effective governance and service delivery.
He stressed the importance of sustained collaboration among political leaders, government officials and other stakeholders in promoting the development of Ijumu Local Government.
Speaking at the programme, the NULGE Chairman commended the leadership of the local government and acknowledged the contributions of the Ogidi Omo Movement to grassroots development, community engagement and empowerment initiatives across Ijumu.
He also praised Olumoko for his sustained commitment to the welfare of the people and congratulated the newly inaugurated members of the movement.
In his remarks, the Executive Chairman of Ijumu Local Government, Alhaji Haruna Ibrahim, described Olumoko as a distinguished grassroots leader whose contributions to the growth and development of Ijumu had remained visible over the years.
The Chairman noted that several developmental initiatives associated with Olumoko’s tenure as Chairman of the local government continued to impact positively on the people.
He also commended Olumoko for his support for the administration of Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, as well as his continued commitment to programmes aimed at promoting community development and social inclusion.
According to him, the activities of the Ogidi Omo Movement have strengthened the relationship between political leadership and the grassroots while providing opportunities for citizens to participate more actively in the development process.
He expressed appreciation for Olumoko’s sacrifices, support and dedication to the progress of Ijumu Local Government.
Goodwill messages were also delivered by political appointees and stakeholders, who commended the leadership of the movement and acknowledged its contributions to empowerment, human capital development and community advancement.
The major highlight of the programme was the formal inauguration of new members into the Ogidi Omo Movement.
Administering the inauguration, Olumoko charged the new members to uphold the core values of the movement, including service, unity, peace, integrity and commitment to community development.
He urged them to remain dedicated to initiatives that promote collective progress and improve the wellbeing of the people, stressing that membership of the movement should translate into meaningful service to the community.
Olumoko expressed appreciation to the Executive Chairman, council leadership, political stakeholders, members of the movement and other participants for their support and solidarity.
He reaffirmed his commitment to grassroots development, empowerment and sustainable progress across Ijumu Local Government, while calling for greater unity among political leaders and stakeholders.
The former council chairman stressed that the overall interest of the people must remain paramount in political and developmental engagements.
He further encouraged citizens to support policies and programmes capable of advancing the development of Ijumu Local Government and Kogi State.
Delivering the vote of thanks, Hon. Sunday Henry expressed gratitude to God for the success of the programme and appreciated the leadership of the Ogidi Omo Movement for its continued efforts towards grassroots mobilization and community development.
He also thanked the Executive Chairman, political appointees, council officials, members of the Steering Committee, media team, security personnel, support groups and other guests for their contributions to the success of the event.
The programme ended with prayers for the newly inaugurated members, the leadership of the Ogidi Omo Movement, Ijumu Local Government, Kogi State and Nigeria.
The inauguration further demonstrated the expanding grassroots reach of the Ogidi Omo Movement and its stated commitment to mobilization, empowerment, community engagement and sustainable development across Ijumu Local Government.
