Okun League of Progressive Elites DG, Barr Alfred Bello, Praises Yahaya Bello’s Role in Safeguarding Nigerian Democracy
The DG was addressing some APC youths mobilizers in his house over the weekend in kabba when he said almost all the stakeholders at the meeting held at APC National secretariat to adopt Senator Ahmed lawal as the presidential consensus candidate for the party has agreed to the adoption except Alh Yahaya Bello who boldly insisted for a full blown primary to confront the order of president Mohamed Buhari.
It was his actions that forced the party to go for National convention where president Ahmed Tinubu emerged as the winner.
Barr Bello said he expected Alhaji Yahaya Bello to be commended for his bold step instead of some individuals trying to change the narratives.
He said politicians should stop behaving like political activist and realized in good time that there’s no permanent enemy nor permanent friend in politics.
Yahaya Bello not stepping down for president Ahmed Tinubu is a good development that gives credibility to the process of his emergency devoid of imposition which might have led to protest vote.
Am appealing to our people not to draw us backward politically but focus on the brighter future of OKUNLAND through negotiation and dialogue.
