OKUN’S 2031 GAMBIT: UNITY IN MOTION FOR KOGI GOVERNORSHIP BID
Okun nation representatives have issued a communique expressing their desire for an Okun man to become the Governor of Kogi State in 2031, immediately after Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s second tenure ended.
The communique, titled “Okun Nation’s Call to Unity and Progress,” outlines key strategies, including boosting voter registration, finding a reliable leader, and strengthening alliances with other Kogi parts.
The event was organized by Okun League of Progressive Elites (OLOPE), took place at Lisa Palm Hotel, Kabba. Many prominent Okun leaders that attended are HRM Oba Dr Solomon Dele Owoniyi, HRM Oba Olusegun Williams-Chairman Okun traditional Area council Ayeni-Olujimu of Ijumu, Oba Muyiwa Ibeun-Elulu of Mopa. Others are Hon Funsho Olumoko, Dr Helen Aderibigbe Adeniyi, Kogi State Commissioner of Innovation, Science and Technology, Asiwaju Olatunji Olusoji represented by Chief Fehinti Dada, ACG Kehinde Ejibunu, Alhaji Isah Adeboye,
Okun will support Ododo till 2031, expecting an Okun governor to succeed him. This aspiration is sacrosanct, with leaders emphasizing unity and dialogue.
Prominent amongst backers of the Communique are Hon (Dr) Funsho Olumo, Asiwaju Prince Olatunji Olusoji via Chief Fehinti Dada, ACG Kehinde Ejibunu. Others are Hon Zacheous Dare Michael, Chairman Kabba/Bunu LGA Barr Alfred Bello, Director-General OLOPE, Alhaji Shuiabu Ipinmisho, Hon Phillip Orebiyi, Hon Eric Fiki, Hon Taiwo Nathaniel and a host of others
Leaders urge Okun people to unite for this goal.
