One Year of Impactfully Purposeful Good Governance; Thank you Gov Ododo – Nayo J B
Good governance with good intentions is the hallmark of a positively impactful, purposeful and people oriented government, and this is the exact reality of the Kogi state government of today under the leadership of the Chief servant of the state, His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, the Executive Governor of Kogi State.
The state and her good people has enjoyed tremendous dividends of democracy under the current administration, in this first year of Governor Ododo administration anniversary, with or without sentimental review of his administration so far, it is evident by every factor of judgment that Governor Ododo has performed exceedingly great and has check every box on the score card above average or mediocre.
According to Frank Herbert, “Good governance never depends upon laws, but upon the personal qualities of those who govern. The machinery of government is always subordinate to the will of those who administer that machinery. The most important element of government, therefore, is the method of choosing leaders.” going by this political principle and social theory of Frank Herbert, it is safe to say that Gov. Ododo has given the good people of Kogi state every reason to be proud of his personal qualities and his principles, also to show continuous solidarity to the system and political ideology that birthed his emergence as Executive governor of Kogi state.

Under this leadership, the Kogi stete HEALTH SECTOR is thriving. The Executive Secretary of the Kogi state health insurance agency, had recently highlighted the agency’s progress in the recent times as rewarding, with plans to enroll 200,000 persons annually over the next ten years. He also mentioned the recent approval by the Governor to enroll pensioners and orphans in the health insurance program which has been ongoin, there are ongoing projects of construction of primary health care centers across local governments in the state. Worthy to mention again is signing a bill converting the state-of-the-art Reference Hospital, Okene into the Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH) Teaching Hospital, to align with the National Universities Commission’s approval of a full-time Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) program, among other medical courses, at CUSTECH.
The EDUCATIONAL SECTOR of Kogi under the current administration is also thriving and all inclusive, recently, the Kogi State Government under Gov. Ododo has commenced the disbursement of bursary scholarship support of over N316 million to 8,750 undergraduate students who are indigenes of the state in tertiary institutions across the country. Out of the 8,750 verified students, 8,549 undergraduates will receive N30,000 each, while 201 Law students will receive N300,000 each, being disbursed under the Kogi State Scholarship Board (KSSB).
Also in Gov. Ododo’s commitments to educational prosperity of Kogi state and Kogi State University, Kabba to national prominence, Governor Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo is spearheading a bold initiative to enhance the institution’s infrastructure.
The ongoing infrastructural projects, which encompass Theater Halls, Lecture Halls, Hostels, and administrative buildings, are rapidly transforming the university into a premier center for learning and excellence.
Kogi CIVIL SERVANT WELFARE is a top priority in Gov. Ododo’s government, Civil servants in Kogi State have constantly expressed their gratitude to His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for prompt payment of salaries on monthly basis, also nicknaming the Governor as Governor O’Pay and describing him as truly civil servants-friendly leader.
The impacts and commitments of Gov. Ododo’s administration to socio economical prosperity of the state is also one to applaud, this current administration has upscaled the economical chain and value growth of the state by ease of business and investors friendly policies and initiatives.
