PIBCID, NWTF, Police Renstates Commitment to Strengthening Security Architectures in Kogi Communities
A Non Governmental organization, Participation Initiative for Behavioral Change in Development (PIBCID) in collaboration with the Nigerian Police has renstated their commitments to strengthening security architectures in communities across Kogi State.

Rachiel Remilekun Akande, stated this during a one Day Capacity Building Training on Security Red flags and Early warning Detection, organized by PIBCID in Partnership with the Nigeria Police Force with Funding support from Nigeria Women Trust Fund (NWTF), held on Tuesday at Ajanaku Community, in Adavi Local Government of the state.
She noted that since security is the duty of everyone, members of the community must be vigilant and conscious, by taking proactive measures to safeguard their area and promptly reporting any suspecious movement and strange people in their community to security agents to prevent any breakdown of law and order.
According to her, the training is to enable members of the community identify threats to their peace, saying, that is the only way to prevent any trouble in the area, maintaining that in the event of security breaches, women and children are always the most affected.
While explaining the signs to look out for before any security breach, the Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO), ASP, Saliu Oyiza Afusat, called on members of the community to always be at alert.
“We are able to gather here today because there is peace in the community. Security breaches do not happen just like that. There are always signs and signals. These are the signs you must always look out for.
“You must be able to identify strange people in your community, strange movement and negative changes in the behaviour of anybody in your community, which are likely to cause breach of peace. All these must be reported to either the community leaders and security agents for swift action.
“The commissioner of Police, CP Naziru Bello Kankarofi and the command are always ready to listen to your complaints and take appropriate measures to safeguard your community and the entire State.
She charged the people to take the training very seriously and put to practice all that they have learnt, for their own safety, saying that they must also take steps to eliminate Gender Based violence in their community.
Speaking also, Adoh Innocent Onyema, representing the Chief Executive Office/CEO of NWTF, Brenda Anugwom, commended the peaceful co-existence of members of the community, assuring them that his organization will continue to support initiatives that foster a peaceful environment in the state.
In there separate speeches, members of the community commended the organizers for always prioritizing their welfare and promised to put to use all that they have learnt in promoting peaceful in their community.
The training in Ajanaku community is the second in the 5 days security awareness training for communities in Kogi State, organized by PIBCID and the Nigerian Police with Funding support from Nigeria Women Trust Fund (NWTF).
