By Bala Salihu Dawakin Kudu Democracy Newsline on 20 January 2026.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media Affairs, Mallam Abdul’aziz Abdul’aziz, has represented President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, on a condolence visit to Kano State, following a tragic and deeply disturbing incident in which the wife and six children of Mallam Haruna were brutally murdered.

During the visit to the bereaved family, Mallam Abdul’aziz conveyed the President’s heartfelt sympathy and solidarity at a moment of profound grief. He described the killings as a heinous and inhuman act that has shocked the conscience of the nation, stressing that the Federal Government shares in the pain of the family and the wider community.

He reassured Mallam Haruna and members of the community that President Tinubu has directed security and law enforcement agencies to ensure a swift, thorough, and transparent investigation, with a clear mandate that all those responsible for the crime must be brought to justice and punished in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

According to him, the President remains resolute in his commitment to protecting lives and property and will not tolerate acts of violence that undermine national peace and security.
The presidential aide emphasized that justice for the victims is not only a legal necessity but also a moral obligation, noting that accountability is essential to restoring public confidence and deterring similar crimes in the future.

In the same spirit of compassion, Mallam Abdul’aziz also paid a separate condolence visit over the death of Dr. Abdulaziz Bature, who passed away three days earlier.

On behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, he extended sincere condolences to the late doctor’s family, relatives, friends, and professional colleagues, acknowledging Dr. Bature’s contributions to society and the sense of loss felt by all who knew him.

At both visits, Mallam Abdul’aziz offered prayers, asking Almighty Allah (SWT) to forgive the deceased, grant them eternal rest, and give their families the strength, patience, and fortitude to bear the irreparable losses.
The condolence visits underscore the Federal Government’s message of empathy, responsibility, and commitment to justice, particularly in times of national sorrow and tragedy.
