Sallah Message During Eid el-Kabir: Murtala Garo Seeks Unity, Urges Helping Hands to Needy.

As Muslims across Nigeria and the world celebrate the sacred festival of Eid el-Kabir, a time marked by devotion, sacrifice, and compassion, the Deputy Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2023 Kano State general elections, Murtala Sule Garo, has delivered a heartfelt Sallah message calling for unity, peace, and renewed kindness.
In a statement personally signed and made available to journalists on Thursday, Garo urged Nigerians—especially the people of Kano State—to embrace the spirit of Eid by offering prayers for national peace and progress, while also remembering the less fortunate during this sacred time.

“I extend my heartfelt greetings to the Muslim Ummah in Kano State and across Nigeria,” Garo stated. “May the spirit of Eid el-Kabir bring peace and strengthen our bonds of unity.”
But this year’s celebration carries a somber tone, as the state still mourns the tragic loss of 22 young Kano athletes who recently perished in a fatal road accident while returning from the National Sports Festival in Ogun State. Garo paid tribute to their memory, offering prayers for the souls of the departed and strength to their grieving families.
“I also pray for the repose of the souls of our departed brothers, who died in the recent accident. May Allah grant them eternal rest and comfort their families,” he said solemnly.
The former Commissioner and grassroots political figure used the occasion to remind citizens of the true essence of Eid el-Kabir—compassion, sacrifice, and sharing. He called on well-meaning individuals and organizations to reach out to the poor, the hungry, and those struggling silently in their communities.
“Let us use this opportunity to extend our hands of kindness to those in need and ensure that everyone feels the joy of this blessed season,” Garo emphasized.
