The Governorship Candidate of the major opposition party, People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the November 11th Governorship Election in Kogi State, Senator Dino Melaye who is known for his oratory power and dancing steps have left his critics speechless when he took to the podium to sing and dance to the admiration of the audience yesterday during the Ekinrin-Adde Day Celebration held on the field of Baptist High School in the community.
Senator Melaye who came with a great surprise yesterday when he announced twenty one million naira donations on behalf of his three children who are also parts of Ekinrin-Adde Community and his leader, Prince Olushola Akanmode and redeem it instantly before he left the venue of the event.
A gesture that have kept his critics talking of how they think he will only promised and will not redeem it like other politicians who only pledge without fulfilling it.
However, Senator Melaye has continued to used any opportunity he has to convince the people that he remain the only personality that can face the ruling party in the state, noted that he has the capacity and technical know how to win the forthcoming election in the state.
The Governorship hopeful said for fairness, equity and justice to thrive in the state, it is the turn of Kogi West/ Okun nation to produce the next governor, noted that the eastern district dominated by the Igala speaking people have produced three governors in quick succession while the last eight years the Ebira man from Central district has been in charged hence it is time for the Okun people to be Governor of Kogi State.
He assured the people of good governance that will guarantee equitable distributions of the state resources, pointed out that his actions will not be lopsided like the current administration that make everything in the Ebira, that by after November 11 election Okun languages will also be heard in Lugard house Lokoja.
He congratulated the paramount ruler of the community, Oba Anthony Bamigbade, the Olu Adde of Ekinrin-Adde, the President of Ekinrin-Adde Development Association, Mr Wilson Abiodun Olorunleke for organizing such an outstanding day celebration that bring together all sons and daughters of the community to celebrate the rich cultural and traditional heritage of the people and also for the launch of the community owned Radio station, Akigba Fm, 88.3, first of it’s kind in Okunland.
He also Congratulated those who were conferred with honorary Chieftaincy titles, noted he got his own as Otunba Ariwajoye of Ekinrin-Adde fourteen years ago hence he urged them to justify the confidence reposed in them and join hands with other to make the community great.
