Sen. Sunday Karimi Congratulates the New Leaderships in the Seven Local Government of Kogi West Senatorial District

Senator Sunday Karimi, representing Kogi West Senatorial District, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to the newly elected Chairmen, Vice Chairpersons and Councillors of the seven local governments of the district.
The Senator while reacting, described as a significant political development which marks a crucial moment for local governance in Kogi West.
In a statement made available to newsmen on Sunday in Abuja, Senator Sunday Karimi expressed his pride in every democratic processes that lead to every elections which is a major aspect of every democracy Worldwide.
While emphasizing the importance of local governance in fostering development, empowering communities, and enhancing the quality of life for the citizens of the people in the grassroots.
Recognizing that local government plays a vital role in the delivery of essential services, Sen. Karimi highlighted the responsibilities that the new leadership of the local governments are expected to undertake in their respective localities.
The Senate Committee Chairman on Senate Services urged the officials to prioritize the needs of their constituents, focusing on key areas such as infrastructure development, healthcare, education, youth and women empowerment.
He underscored the necessity for these leaders to work collaboratively with relevant stakeholders, including community leaders, civil society organizations, and the private sector, to drive initiatives that will pave ways for sustainable development.
He also called for the unity and collaboration among the Local Government leaderships towards fostering a cohesive approach to governance in Kogi West and Kogi State in general.
He noted that the challenges faced by the region, such as inadequate infrastructure and limited access to basic services, requires a concerted effort and innovative solutions, which can be achieved through collective actions and shared resources.
He pointed out that the success of the new leaderships would be measured not only by their ability to fulfill campaign promises but also by their commitment to transparency, accountability, and inclusiveness in governance.
He urged them to engage with their constituents actively, ensuring that the voices of the people are heard and considered in decision-making processes.
The senator concluded by reaffirming his commitment to supporting the development, progress and prosperity of all the Local Governments in the senatorial districts in providing the necessary assistance and collaboration needed to help them succeed especially in the areas of Security and human capital development.
