Sen. Sunday Karimi Leeads Delegation to Kupa to Commiserate with the Families and People Affected by the Boat Mishap that Claimed Lives

Senator representing Kogi West and Senate Committee Chairman on Senate Services, Senator Sunday Karimi led a delegation inclusive of Hon. Danladi Aguye (Member Representing Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency), Hon. Abdullahi Adamu, the Executive Chairman of Lokoja LGA and Hon Haruna to commiserate with the communities affected by the recent boat mishap that led to the loss of lives.

Alhaji Dauda Kabir, Maiyaki of kupa received and thanked the delegation for their show of empathy and asked for the intervention of Government and other private individuals to come to the support of the families that lost their loved ones including properties in the unfortunate incident.

In a swift response to the request by the paramount ruler, Senator Sunday Karimi set up a support fund for the families. He immediately pledged a sum of Ten Million Naira (N10,000,000). Hon Danladi Aguye also pledged Five Million Naira (N5,000,000). The fund raising committee is headed by Hon Haruna, a distinguished personality and a former Member of House of Representatives. A one million naira cash was given to those present at the gathering by Senator Sunday Karimi.

The delegation also took time off to inspect the Cottage Hospital being constructed and financed privately by Sen. Sunday Karimi at Edo Community, in Kakanda.
